My hubs was diagnosed and started his meds about 18 months ago. He has now been off meds for about 4 months. In the year or so he was on the meds, we adjusted his diet to include alot more veg at each meal and he cut out drinking about 90% of sugary juices and sodas. he dropped close to 40 lbs in that time. It wasn't the…

What do you mean by set that high? Depending on starting weight, 1380 could be very low.
-
Fake weight or not, I would LOSE my mind if I stepped on the scale and it was 20lbs higher than a couple days previous weight. That's one heck of a lot of liquid. Is your scale digital? Maybe time for a new battery.

OP may be gone but thanks for posting this calculator.

Originally from Toronto, in Edmonton now

something is not right there. I plugged in 1 large egg, 1 oz cheese and 2oz beef tenderloin into the database and came up with 24 grams of protein.

Looks good! I make a soup like this I call veggie drawer soup. Whatever is left in there before the next shopping day goes in the pot + basic broth, spices etc.

Hi OP, I started (again) at 280 last year. I am also 5'4" I chose to eat the way I want to eat for the rest of my life this time as opposed to cutting out the foods I love and consuming farrrr fewer calories than were sustainable. I suspect the 1560 you have set is going to get old really fast. At your weight, you most…

As far as calorie content? Yes.
-
My thoughts exactly. If you've jumped on the "I'm not going eat anything besides salads and chicken breasts" bandwagon, that will get old really quick. Can't say much else without more information.
-
I would be bored too! Is there a medical reason for such a restricted diet? Boredom leads to binging in my opinion. Would you consider trying to incorporate all the foods you love and want to eat for the rest of your life in to your daily diet? Just stay within your budgeted calories for the day. (yes you can eat the foods…

did you eat any fruit and did you count it?

I'm in Edmonton and bought passes to the rec centres. Have you checked out the ones in Calgary? No contracts no monthly fees. You could at least try out all the different types of equipment you're thinking about over a few visits before making a big financial commitment ETA: Just checked the Calgary rec centre website and…

Living in Edmonton but from the real centre of the universe AKA "Torona". Missing the Kawartha and Muskoka lakes so much.

I topped one with homemade chile con carne last night. OMG the combo of sweet and spicy was truly delish.

What in the actual F*!% ? Hope that comment was from a passing stranger and you tripped them as he/she walked by.
-
Sorry but NO. No starvation mode. OP please ignore. Just keep on doing what you're doing. Be patient, expect the fluctuations, and be happy as your weight trends down.

ISFP-T (Adventurer) I thought nawww that doesn't sound like me, so I went back and did it again and sure enough I got the same result. Some of the percentages were changed, but all in all same result. I know I'm an introvert but the rest of the analysis doesn't really fit.
-
Just heard 1 co-worker commenting to another that starvation mode happens if you don't eat 5-6 small meals per day. I shook my head and walked away.
-
Great job! Now if I could only motivate myself into that mindset

56 year old here. Lost 40 lbs last year and on track to lose another 40 this year. I am taking it slow, no fads, no special "diet". I am eating the foods I want to eat for the rest of my life, just eating less of them. Lets face it I'm already flabby and saggy, so trying to shed the pounds quickly will only make that…

Hahaha that camel toe was the star of the show. You would have thought the camera person would have said something.
-
Just turned 56. Lost 40 lbs last year with 40 to go till goal. Feel free to add.

Like so many others, I tried everything that sounded like it was the fast track to weight loss only to have all the weight pile back on after I stopped whatever fad I was doing. What I learned was to take it slow, eat the foods I enjoy and not beat myself for overeating at times. It will probably take me another year to…
