I too try to avoid the buffets because of my control issues (don't know if it is BED but I have some sort of issue). The last time I went to a buffet was because there were no other choices. It was a chinese buffet. I stuck mostly to seafood and salads. I allowed myself some small amounts of the foods that I really like to…

A trip of a 1000 miles starts with the first step. I think that baby steps is a valid strategy. Instead of waking one morning to pump iron for a hour every other day and running marathons on the off days(*), start small. Set a goals for yourself and find small short term goals that take you in the direction that you want…

Thanks. I cannot get this to work consistently. I'll have to play around with it to see if I can see a pattern.

I have a fitbit that I used to have connected here. I found the synchronization between fitbit and MFP to be unreliable. Some days it worked as it should but some days it not. Is there a trick that I missed?

Had someone tell me that if I lifted weights while obese, the muscle would form over the fat and I would be flabby.

Drew mine a couple weeks ago.

This one got me chuckling. I think something practical like vacuum cleaner, swiffer, laundry detergents,... would be good for getting in the dog house. Of course, you could pull something similar to what Homer did in this episode of the Simpsons: http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Life_on_the_Fast_Lane

Pretty good here  According to my fitbit, I've 36 so far.

I just found this group and joined. This is my second attempt to add running to my regimen. The first time I ended because I was having some serious pain in my foot. After losing some more weight, I have started again this time following this program. Today, I completed W2D3.

Two possible solutions... move to the east or west coast (I'm assuming you live and America and don't already live on of the coasts). I've found seafood tastes a heck of a lot better than the stuff you get in the landlocked states. The other option would be tilapia that fish seems to survive freezing than the others.…

I've always been in shape... round is a shape right?

Thursdays are my normal weigh in day. Lost about a pound this week.

You missed my point. There are so many things going on that the OP is missing the big picture.

Portion sizes are a part of it yes (I can remember when a large soda from McD was only 16 oz). Another part of it is the availability of fast food (I can count 4 McD on my route to work and that's just McD). Another part is the constant propaganda to get us to eat something (advertising works or nobody would be doing it).…

Roughly this... Breakfast: 10% Lunch: 30% Dinner: 50% Snack: 10% This wasn't planned or anything. Heck, I doubt that this is a good split.

Not necessarily due to my weight but I was at a water park and went down a water slide. At the end of this slide, there was this funnel-like structure that my wife and I call the toilet bowl. One time I went down, somehow I got turned around and dropped out of it head first. Unfortunately, my trunks did not fall as fast as…
