  • Went to the doctors today, I officially am no longer in diabetic sugar ranges, all the bad numbers are coming down, and I am the healthiest (no diabetes, no high blood pressure, bad cholesterol lowered) I have been in 13 years!!! I’ve had lower numbers on the scale in those years, but these numbers speaks volumes to the…

  • Congrats on your date!!!
  • How very exciting!! I hope you achieve all of your goals
  • I was told 8 oz in a hour, which is the same amount over time but I noticed then and still that it’s a bit harder to drink in the morning and then in the evening it’s easier, I’m not sure if that’s just in my head or not but I just sip small amounts all day long. It takes some time to get up to all your goals, listen to…
  • I didnt have a lap band but I came home from the hospital after gastric bypass up about 5 lbs (I was only there for 24 hours) but during surgery they fill you with gas, your body is stressed and more sedetary so you might retain fluid your on an IV for one or two days, but it still sucks to the scale go up that much!!!

in Liquid Diet Comment by HLaR79 July 2018
  • Very exciting feeling for sure!!! The liquid diet isn’t easy, depending on your surgeons preference but stick to it, and be prepared for side effects!!!
  • That’s very frustrating if their is a list that long their is obviously a need for it that exceeds what one surgeon can do and take care of! It amazes me that some health care systems don’t see the life saving measure that it could be.
  • Thanks for the well wishes, Monday was rough, Tuesday was a bit better and today I am bored at home lol! I feel good I hardly have any pain at all, more like just some muscle aches! I am tolerating my liquids well and am not hungry at all! I am looking forward to my recovery and getting back to living life!
  • I am also in Canada (MB) , took me about 18 months to even get an appointment with the bariatric clinic here, after that things went faster!
  • You can do it!!!! Every step is worth it! I had to look up parathyroid!! Hopefully that goes well for you and you just keep up the good fight :)
  • Last week on pre-op liquids! Each week got a bit easier, these last few days hopefully go quickly! @clsumrall1 how did your appointment on Friday go?
  • How exciting @clsumrall1 I hope that you get out through as well. It is an exciting moment.
  • I had a little slip yesterday from my liquid diet, the food didn’t taste good and I got a bad stomach ache! I was pretty hard on myself yesterday, but I still have 2 weeks on this liquid diet, I have already lost 9 lbs, and I won’t give myself that kind of tummy ache again
  • Thanks it is getting easier I kept myself very busy today and have plans to keep busy tomorrow!!! 16 more sleeps till surgery
  • I hope you get approved I know how hard it is to get approval!!! You got this either way
  • Thanks, I just finished my fourth day! I hope there is some better in site for me. I don’t feel hungry today but I do feel lots of cramps still. I left work they were so bad, but I am hopeful for a good day tomorrow and week one is almost over.
  • Day 1 of pre-op diet and I’m so hungry I want to throw up, and cheat.... I certainly won’t do the second and I hope I don’t do the first..... only 302 more bottles of boost till my surgery!
  • I did get my surgery date for June 25th, and the surgeon confirmed that I will be having the roux-en-y gastric by-pass surgery. On June 4th I start a 3 week diabetic boost diet that consists of boost and 0 calorie drinks. After 3 weeks of boost the post-op clear liquid phase will seem like a feast . I am still very excited…
  • Thanks, I’m pretty pumped!! My surgeons office provides so much support and a very in-depth program requirements, I am so thankful for it because I see people on here who don’t seem to have enough information. But there is always room for more info, I will stay open to that!
  • The weather is crazy all over still it was so cold here last few weeks but hopefully the warmer weather is coming
  • I don’t know but it keeps me motivated :)
  • Oh no! I’m glad your feeling better though
  • Okay I tried to get back on track after struggling all month but with my daughter being in the hospital and having emergency surgery I just didn’t get anything done the last two days again, no logging, missing pills, hardly sleeping... even I could finish if I had 10/10 every day for the next week, but it’s not likely with…
  • My quote didn’t quote so On the 20th I had 6/10 March 21 1. Log my food x 2. Hit my protein goals x 3. Drink min 64 oz water 4. 8000 steps on my Fitbit x 5. Take my meds and vitamins x 6.
