Plans for March
Any exciting plans for March for anyone? I know some places no longer have big restrictions from covid and things are hopefully looking up? Here it doesn’t look like the restriction changes are going to change much for me, but spring is here and the weather is above freezing now so I am trying to force myself to enjoy the…

Long week
Sorry I said I would stop by more often but it was a long week, due to new guidelines for sick staff we are almost always short staff at work! But I didn’t let that stop me from working on my goals, I’ve been taking my vitamins more regularly (I stopped thinking I was eating enough/properly and my iron, vitamin D and b12…

Hurry up 2021
2020 has been a very unkind year, living through a world wide pandemic has made a lot of people see life differently, and I am sure lots of us are suffered from covid burn out! It’s time to make a better year I don’t believe in New Years resolutions as I believe it sets you up to fail from the start but I do believe in…

Rebound weight
I am creeping up to one year since my surgery. My surgical team/support team has drilled in since day one that a 5-10 lbs weight gain from your lowest is normal and expected at some point (usually after 1 year) and that this would be where you should maintain. It seems most people “fight” that weight gain, and torture…

Welcome
I thought we could use a change up!!! So I moved some older posts and want to have a fresh start!! It's been a quiet few months as summer keeps most of us busy but i thought it would be nice to have some new introductions to the group members :)

Scale and non-scale victories
I know the scale isn’t the most important part of this journey, but my scale and me are friends today!!! I have lost 50 lbs from starting my pre-op liquid diet, and I’m down 95 lbs from my highest weight. To celebrate my scale victories and my non-scale victories (wearing a size 20, learning how to jog/run so I can run a 5…

So close to surgery
I was approved for surgery finally after a long wait to have it covered by my health plan, and I see the surgeon on Friday and will be getting a surgery date.... I’m so excited. I have to do a 2-3 week diabetic boost diet that I am not so excited for. It’s so exciting I can hardly concentrate on my work :)

Little rant
The last few weeks have felt really crappy, between vacations when I was only 7 weeks post-op and my family drama and my husband who only wants junk food and pop, and my friends who I don’t see or talk too I feel crappy and lonely and a little lost trying to stumble my way down this new path in my life...

Starting puréed foods tomorrow
Anyone got good tips for the puréed portion?? I have the usuals, low fat soup, shakes some soft meats but I am hoping for some variety... after 3 weeks of boost and 1 week of broth and jello I am now going to have to work at those healthier choices. Also I was not prepared for the emotions... not like “why did I do this?”…

Surgery Monday June 25
So Monday is my day! I did 3 weeks on a diabetic boost diet, I am working out 150 minutes a week, and I learned what some of my biggest food triggers are which will help me going forward! I am excited and a little scared! Keeping busy today and tomorrow!

Changing lifestyle changing friends
The more I work towards getting the surgery the more I feel a huge wedge between myself and the person who was my best friend. She is also very obese, and says she wants to loose weight but everything positive I learn and try to share she makes excuses for not being able to do it. I dont want to sit on my butt and eat…

2018 is finally here
To ring in my new year I have accepted a new job within my company. It’s a pretty lateral move so no raise to money but hopefully a lot less stress. I have been with the company for 8 years now I don’t really want to start out someplace new.

Starting the bariatric surgery process
I'm glad I found this group, I am just starting the process for surgery, I was accepted into a program that is covered so I don't have to pay for it, I have my first meeting with the team in February and then things will take 9-12 months after that to get surgery, if I qualify for everything! I am already starting the…

So quiet in our group the past few months!! I hope everyone is doing well.
