I've been very lucky. I grew up with lots of excess hair on the cheeks and chin because of my PCOS and had all the lovely nicknames from people. My family doctor hired a PA who also owns her own asthetic center on the upper floor of the building. Since she has been treating me for PCOS and all of the charges went through…

What they didn't say is how it was destroyed. I'm thinking there was a huge Pot Luck that night mexican food themed and that food was enjoyed.

Mmmmmhmmmmmm, me too. Anytime, anyday, anywhere!!!!

You know I never put the two together but since I started taking Levothyroxine I've not been able to lose weight as easily. Hmmm, guess that is something I need to talk to my doctor about when I go next week. Glad to see that there are others having the same issue.

When I got mine they were already named Boner and Princess. I changed his name just a bit by adding a "N" and calling him Bonner instead.

Amen to this! I was able to go through my closet and find clothes I haven't worn in over a year to wear and had to take them up because they were to big for me.

My prior students coming up to me in the hallway and telling me there is something different about me, other than the hair cut, and they just can't figure out what.

Like you I've always had problems with portion control so I have learned with chips to purchase the individual size serving bags and that has been a big help.

Yes having hypo does affect our BMR. I went to the doctor and had mine tested before I was actually even diagnosed with the hashimotos/hypo. Knowing that number has been a HUGE help in the setting calorie goals.

Well next time I'l know to get the real and nongeneric meds. I just hope my insurance will cover it almost as well as they do the generics because I know most nongeneric can get to be very expensive. Yes the same doctor prescribed both medications and I've been alright on the phentermine since I began. I spoke with the…

Wow so much information here and I'm so glad of that. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's this morning and put on a small dosage of levothyroxin to start. I've had PCOS for about the last 5 years and have been obese for as long as I can remember no matter how active I am/was. I started here on MFP last May and lost some and…

Thanks so very much ladies. I'm definitely going to check out the group. I was wondering how the other meds I take will react with this new med. My doctor put me on Levothyroxin 25mcg to start off. I had an ultrasound done back in June and there was a small tumor but they didn't say anything then. I've been on phentermine…

I' decided today was my splurge day as well and might even tomorrow because I know my schedule starting Monday shall get back to how it should be and I will focus myself more and even cut about 50 calories out each day. I will admit I started this journey at almost 400 pounds and have an extremely slow metabolism but…

Looks like I've gained about a pound and a half since my last weigh in but its also my T.O.M. so its likely to mostly be mostly bloating and water weight. I have an official weigh in at the doctor's office tomorrow morning and we will see the official weight loss since Nov then. According to my scale its about 6 pounds and…

50 pounds in a year is very doable, I've been on MFP since May and have lost 68 pounds so far, with little to no extra exercise really. I have a lot more to lose but I know with the support I'm getting this time I can do it and am getting to feel better and be able to do more physically without losing my breath. i know if…

Thanks so much, that did help!

I'm in! My goals: 1. average 1900 calories for the week 2. walk every day this week (25 minutes or more) 3. get back to drinking more water ( at least 8 glasses each day)

I have PCOS, insulin resistance and never check my blood sugar. I don't even own a monitor. I have been on metformin 1000 a day for years now and have no complaints with it. My mom is diabetic and on it as well but double the prescription of mine and says it does occasionally bother her stomach.

I don't know what a doctor's or nutritionists answer would be but what I do know is from my own experience. I have constantly been eating small breakfasts (too much then makes me sick), a mid size lunch, a large dinner and then a snack before bed (normally a weight watchers ice cream cup and skinny cow candy) and I've…

I would have to agree with the ladies that posted Lane Bryant and Torrid. I just love both those stores for more than just the great shoe selection.

Craving chocolate, I know the feeling. I have found though that one maybe two sugar free hershey's candies or some of the weightwatchers candies or ice creams helps me out for low calories. I've been told about the enw ice cream arctic zero that is like 150 calories for a full pint and i saw they have chocolate in that as…

Since I only do a official weigh in at my doctors office (don't have a scale that works at home) On Sept 7th I weighed 352 and as of yesterday morning I am down to 340. Not sure how you want to place that in the chart you are making. I am looking to have at least another 10 before Thanksgiving.

You know, you are wrong to a point here. Since May I've lost about 50 pounds and I've done no extra working out than I've ever done. I've simply started watching more of what I eat. Maybe this op is like I am and doesn't have time to test out all the different types of exercise before finding one she like. Just give them a…

My mom has always laughed at me because I stopped eating most breakfast foods the moment she stopped forcing me to eat them. For a long time I didn't eat breakfast at all but since I started here on MFP I have eaten breakfast almost every morning and lose more weight when I do this. I love to make wraps in the morning…

I would love to join but only weigh in once a month with my dr and count those as my official weigh in to record. If you don't mind that then I'm in. Last weigh in was Sept and it was 352, weighing in again this Thursday and hoping I'm down another 10 pounds at least. I am hoping to be down to 320 by New Years Eve.

I have PCOS and am insulin resistant. I have diabetes on both sides of my family and am dead set on keeping from getting it. I have been on metformin for years and would admit I do lose weight better when I take it. My mom is diabetic and was on it for a while and it tore her stomach up but I have noticed I do fine if I…
