If it is just your arms, you can always do something that requires more leg work (eg biking, stairmaster or lifting legs only.) Usually once you warm up it feels a little better. However, sometimes especially at the begininng of lifting I was just to sore and skipped a day. The world will go on. :)

Once I bought a fun new water bottle (a camelback brand water bottle), I started to drink at least a few more cups. I bring it with me everywhere. Not saying that will work for you, but it does for me.

I don't think you should pass up the opportunity to go on a date with someone who you are interested in. If you are really concerned, maybe set the date up for a week. Work out hard this week to get some confidence and then rock your date!

Also it could just be the week before your period. Usually most women weight more purely because of water retention.

It depends a lot on how tough your instructor is. My kickboxing class is much more work than dance, but I am sure it can vary.
