  • Lol, how many people are reaching for a calculator right now?!
  • Erm.. that works out at 28.8 hours per day??!!!
  • There's a reason why junk food tastes so good, it has a lot of fat, and our body NEEDS fat - it just needs to be the right type! It's worth thinking about trying to give yourself some good fats - from nuts and seeds, avocados, olives - think mediterranean diet basically. When your body then starts getting the right amount…
  • Well, some interesting responses - it's amazing what goes on when you pop out for a bike ride lol! First off I'd just like to say that I have no intention of replicating what they do on biggest loser in any way! I'm aware of how much they work out, how gruelling that is, and I have no desire to lose more than 1 - 2lb a…
  • Stick it in the suggestions section! Good idea! That and the 'like' button - I know, it's a bit facebook ish... but I love fb too! Lol!
  • I found this link, obviously it's just another internet page so I can't guarantee it's accuracy, but it does at least have some tables which shows healthy ranges for men and women: http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/body_weight/body_fat/percentage.htm

  • Wow thank you, I have this problem - and my second toe is longer than my first, always wondered why it happened and you've explained it so well! Off to get some better trainers... thanks again!
  • Lol! Are you worried the scales will see something they shouldn't!? Is there a hidden camera in there somewhere?!
  • Thank you. I will try to cut back a little I think! My problem is I don't like tea, and water's just, well, boring! I need to try to get back to fruit teas I think! Good to know I can still have some caffeine though! I don't take milk or sugar, and certainly no sugary sodas! Thanks again.

  • Woohoo!! That's brilliant Jen, so pleased for you! It's hearing of things like this that spur me on to keep going - I so want something like this to happen to me... though I'm not likely to start putting on someone else's clothes! Lol! Thank you for posting it - isn't it lovely to share in someone's success?! xxx
  • After three lots of knee surgery I can concur that cycling is the way to go! Both static in the gym (a good way to get started post op as you can set it very light - the real world isn't so forgiving!) and then out and about - start with bike paths which are fairly level to start off with. Once things are healing up a bit…
  • Can you go and weigh yourself somewhere else (not naked before breakfast obviously!;-)) just to check which set of scales were closer to the truth? Like another person said, it may be that the new scales are faulty! A lot of gyms and pharmacies have scales - I'd give that a go before panicking. If it turns out your…
  • I often choose a 6 degree incline at 6mph and find I burn about the same calories as when I (try!) run! It hurts my somewhat dodgy knees a lot less than running and tones up my calves nicely!
  • Definitely a case of someone trying to get you to eat the same treat as them to assuage their own guilt I think! Ouch.. when I think back I may have actually said that before... :blushing: I promise never to say it again...
  • Oh I am SO with you there! Well said!
  • I think you're maybe coming at this from the other end - if you have just started out on your weight loss journey and are telling people about it, comments such as 'you don't need to lose weight, you look fine' when you have a BMI of 35 is actually unhelpful. HOWEVER, if you have LOST some weight and it's starting to show,…
  • Yup, had that one too! Not as tall as you though - I'm just 5'10"!
  • I had that happen to me!!
  • Hi Suzie, another Suzi here! Welcome! I've not been here long but I've found this such a useful site - and I've even got my hubby addicted to it now too! It has certainly motivated me. Good luck on your journey! Add me as a friend if you like x
  • I've heard they do them in Waitrose, might be worth a try!
  • Just finished day one level one... couldn't manage those crossover abs things at the end... OWWWWW! Will try harder tomorrow!
  • Hi and welcome, I'm fairly new here myself but so far I'm finding it so useful! The support and motivation on here is brilliant! Feel free to add me as a friend x
  • Brilliant, thank you! We don't eat any red meat - only chicken/turkey, though he has to be very careful of how much of that he eats (one portion a day max) because he suffers big time with gout if he over does it - he has tofu instead to get his protein. Interesting what you say about allergies, he was told he had lactose…
  • Thanks for your replies. Our problem is that my hubby works out really hard and has done for a long time, and doesn't overeat that much though may have had a bit of a problem with portion size - but I just couldn't balance up the amount of calories that MFP said that he was burning (and has been burning for a long time!)…
  • Wow , what an inspiration you are to us all! You look so happy and so pretty!
  • Noooo! Even it's not hurting it's trying to tell you something! RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) and ibuprofen for a couple of days then see how it feels.
  • Hi Tamara, firstly a HUGE well done for getting where you are, I am in awe! I had a look at your photos, I would say you look amazing! I certainly don't think you need to lose anything from your tummy or hips, speaking as a fellow thigh weight carrier I can understand you wanting to tone your thighs some more (but really,…
  • Oh no! (((hugs))) It sounds like you need to sit your bloke down and tell him how you feel though. I doubt it will come as any surprise to him. My guess is he's scared by this new slimline woman who is appearing before him, which is now making him feel even fatter than ever. Does he ever eat with you? Could you cook a…
  • This is such a good thread, I can honestly say I have NEVER thought about this so hard! Ummm, Ok, I like that I have a curvy figure so even when I'm fat I go in and out in the right places. I like my hair. I like my boobs but thank heaven for push up bras cos gravity likes them too these days... I like my calves cos even…
  • Wow! How lovely to get so many replies so quickly! Thank you all so much, especially for the friend requests! It's really made my day! I'm hoping of course that Diet Chef won't just be a quick fix for me, that all the weight won't immediately go straight back on - the one thing I've learned so far is that my portions I was…
