MFP allows you to eat back your exercise calories. So your goal at the start of the day is the amount you need to eat to lose your goal amount of weight each week (whatever you have that set to, for example to lose 1lb a week). Then the figure listed under food is the amount of calories you have eaten so far that day, and…

I have honestly had fat thighs all my life, even was I was 13 and built like a rake I had fat thighs! As I got bigger they of course got even bigger, when I lost weight my waist would fit into slim jeans, but the thighs would be stretched skin tight! Ewww! Then six months ago my hubby started dragging me out cycling…

I've seen some programmes on this on the tv, and what I noticed was that in terms of children, what I would consider 'a bit plump' was to my surprise classed as obese! I think maybe we all underestimate the problem of obesity in children - we've all been told I think that it's ok to be a bit plump as a child - puppy fat!…

I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but as I understand it, any rise in the heart rate - higher than expected, points to you being tired - and that includes the heart. Are you getting enough rest? Are you eating enough protein - especially as you've upped your strength training? I would say give yourself…

Ehte when you work muscle hard it causes tiny micro tears; the mucles then 'hold on' to lots of water whilst they repair these tears. Especially if you're quite muscly already this can mean A LOT of water retention - and I know that you've been doing a lot of hard work lately! I'm guessing that your clothes may be telling…

Brilliant! You've lost the extra chin, your neck is sooo much slimmer too, and I bet you didn't have those collarbones on show before either! Oh, and the hairdo really suits you too - you look a lot younger!

Bump? Anyone? Please?

You've had lots of good advice here already, I'll just say that I totally agree, more protein, avoid too many carbs! For me even fruit does it! I snack on cottage cheese or a small handful of nuts, very little bread, only small amounts of rice, pasta or potatoes, protein with every meal! Definitely make sure you're eating…

Was wondering this myself yesterday whilst trying to not eat everything in sight... ANY answers would be very appreciated!

I'd be very surprised if it was still there, it would most likely have dissolved overnight and what you're feeling now is the irritation left by it dissolving in your throat :( If you can gargle with soluble aspirin that's really good for sore throats, if not take soluble paracetamol and drink plenty as others have said -…

OK, I help teach TaeKwon-Do and just about every beginner woman we get through the door cannot do a pushup - but they do get better at it, honest! All of the above suggestions are excellent - start with pressups against a wall - slowly move your feet further away when you can manage to! Then graduate to press-ups on your…

I bruise quite easily - but I can always remember how I got each bruise, they don't appear randomly. If I were to start getting 'random' bruises which I couldn't remember knocking myself etc. then I would probably chat to my GP about it - not to worry you but I think it can be a symptom of other things going wrong, it's…

It depends on many factors! You don't say how much exercise you do and whether you're eating back your calories? If you're eating back any exercise calories on top of the 1200 then I'd say that would be fine for a weight loss program - as long as the calories you're getting are good ones of course!

Woah! Just went and looked at that freedieting site, and it recommends three calories levels - extreme fat loss, fat loss and maintenance - but recommends that you don't do extreme fat loss - it says "Always try to aim for the "Fat Loss" daily calorie level. The "Extreme Fat Loss" level is effectively a rock bottom calorie…

I am a mum of three - my youngest being twins, and I actually do think it IS very hard to shift the baby weight (though I don't think I can claim mine is still baby weight after eight years lol!). For many people it's the first time in their lives that they have been overweight - pregnancy is a huge change to your body in…

You look so beautiful, what an inspiration, thank you!

Lol! Good for you! It's a shame we can't have a calorie sharing scheme isn't it! I'll have some of yours please! How about... beer?!! ONLY JOKING! Don't shoot me! Hehehe... seriously though, my husband is having this problem quite frequently too - he certainly isn't 'eating back' all of his exercise calories - he just…

I think the Quorn products have improved a lot in the past few years - and there is a knack to using it - making sure you add in some extra flavour! The quorn pieces go VERY well in stir fries particularly, and the quorn mince makes a pretty good spag bol. Some of the quorn sausages are ok - get the ones with added herbs…

I'd love to know too! I've had twins - things don't look good! Lol! I would also consider surgery, but I know that it takes a lot of recovering from. I did post a thread to see if anyone had tried any other skin firming therapies such as the RF therapy, but no-one who had replied :( Would love to hear what other people…

Mine was my turning point. It was taken on holiday last year in France, with some lovely friends of ours and some others we had made whilst there too, sat around many pushed together camping tables, sipping wine, eating wonderful food, listening to the river. When we got home and I saw the photo of myself I was at once…

Just to add to that seeing as you're a veggie, quorn rashers work just as well for me too!

Me too! If I have a high carb meal in the evening I'll be STARVING the next morning! I always make sure I get enough protein at breakfast or my stomach will be complaining after a couple of hours - my current fave is a 'healthy' blt - weight watchers bread, mattessons turkey rashers, tomato, lettuce, tiny wipe of light…

Weight watchers do lots of canned lunch size tuna salad mixes which you could pop onto some oatcakes? Or take a ready made salad with you and have the tuna with that!

I had a really good recipe for making a flaxseed bun (like bread) using an egg and flaxseed and a bit of baking soda - cooks in the microwave in a couple of minutes, you cut it open and use it like bread, really brilliant! Let me know if you need me to find you the recipe...

Have you tried switching your percentages around - more calories from protein, less from carbs or vice versa, try it for a couple of weeks see if it makes a difference? I too am not a fan of the eat the calories back brigade, though I do allow myself to eat some of them back if I'm hungry! I think it's more important to…

That one always confuses me in american films! Though to explain to our american friends, pissed off=angry in UK!

I'm English, these are some additions to the list weiner = hot dog in my experience pants are always underwear, never heard any English person refer to trousers as pants! living room and lounge are both used mudguard=fender (fender is a thing that stops a boat crashing into the dock wall, and it's also a nice make of…

Just wanted to pop back and say thank you to you all - it worked! In fact everyone started tucking in to all my beautifully arranged veggies and hummus with gusto! And the spritzers meant I could sip my drinks and make them last much longer - a win all round! AND I stayed under my calories for the day - just! Lol! So glad…
