I've been thinking about looking up a recipe for egg muffins and here one was today on MFP. Synchronicity! I was a horrible omelette maker too until a few months ago, actually. I found the trick for me was a well-greased pan set over a little under medium heat, pouring in the egg and milk mixture, letting it cook and set…

I like making a tortilla chip dip...at minimum, equal parts light sour cream and non-fat Greek yogurt (or slightly less yogurt if you're not super keen on it) and drizzle legit Mexican hot sauce from the bottle over it. I like Valentina (sold at Wal-Mart). Snyder's (the co. that makes pretzels mainly) has some awesome…

I vote baby carrots or Snyders light tortilla chips. Maybe throw in a little cilantro, tomatoes, red onions, light sour cream and/or a sprinkling of 2% sharp cheddar cheese and make it a meal.

I know, right? Me too! Makes me wonder how they manage to stay in business.

$3 a head Metro Detroit area.

They actually name the brands that made the Consumers Report cut here: http://www.phoenixhelix.com/2013/03/04/would-the-real-olive-oil-please-stand-up/ Looks like the non-legit big name brand stuff funneled through Italy is being cut with soybean oil and beta carotene. Not cool.

We're in the suburbs of Detroit.

$500-$600 on average for 2 adults, a 4 y/o, and 3 dogs. That includes food, non-food items, and take out pizza on lazy cooking days. I use coupons and grocery loyalty club offers. That's what I spend and am shelling out more in past years for some of the basics than I used to. BF may kick in about $100-$200 extra (he takes…

I'm with Keith and Co. I buy Ice Mountain brand naturally flavored carbonated water and mix it with 1/2 fruit juice, if that, usually apple. A 6 pk of 16 oz bottles run me $3 a pop. It's refreshing on it's own, too. Cheaper and more liquid than some of the name brand club soda and fancy waters. My favorite is raspeberry…

Someone I am friends with on MFP started a post/discussion about foot problems. I have PF, but no insurance so I took note. Apparently a combination of Nike Air sneakers and Spenco (sp?) inserts were recommended by someone's podiatrist. No doubt you can make an appointment and get some very expensive orthotics made, but…

I love Yelping and their events! I had Elite status a couple of years ago and it was awesome to be invited to cool places and activities. I used to be super shy and socially awkward, so I feel you. It was even hard for me to talk on the phone to strangers or ask a retail person for help. Everyone suggested great fashion…

My down days are less so when I stay on track taking my omega 3 / fish oil pills. I notice the difference if I miss 2-3 days even while maintaining exercise and diet. I feel like it lubricates parts of my brain that need it to feel even-keeled.

As I understood it, the pole workers were 1099 contractors. They did not get a paycheck from the establishment, while I did (that menial server pay with the difference to be made up in tips). No, not really suggesting to go out and get a job at a club lol, but maybe a girls night out for kicks to a club (some are women and…

That's dedication to the cause right there.

I have a friend who drops weight like nobody's business when her life is stressed and chaotic. Good deal on getting your blood work, etc. checked though to rule anything out. I agree with sipping on smoothies and making sure you are at least taking a good multivitamin until things level out for you.

For an extra boost, sometimes I will throw in cold leftover brewed coffee for my milk-based smoothies or concentrated green tea for my fruit & veggie smoothies (5-6 tea bags steeped in 2-3 cups of water). I also use a few squirts of liquid Splenda if I don't get my sweet ratios right.

Sometimes it's just accepting what your body will never be and working with that. I was always insecure about my body type, but kind of worked through that in an unusual way. After a marriage dissolved in 2006 and I threw the bum out I had to pay everything by myself. I had my main office day job, acquired a p/t nights and…

The cure for that is Florida. Just check out the median age of the general population of Sun City. Coincidence? I think not.

I think even bad dates can be good. You can learn from them and they always make for a good story. A nice lady I liked from an old workplace set me up with her son after I'd recently got out of a LTR. I thought it was weird, but as plans developed, it turned out I had to go pick him up. No real explanation given. Again,…

So how's the dating game going, OP?

@Sabine_Stroehm - Funny, when you shared foodfacts.com, I also checked to see if they had an app on Google Play (nope). Just downloaded Fooducate. @The Virgoddess - Homemade is definitely where it's at. Haven't come across any purveyors near me so that leaves me to aggravate my carpal tunnel hand kneading dough. lol

I did not know about that site. I will definitely check it out. I am trying to cut out more and more of the chemical crap out of my life in general.
Keep them in the fridge. They are sprouted grain.
Thanks for the tip :-)

Sweet! Looks like I can pick these up at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods near me. That works.

There was nothing wrong with your intro. 'Offense' or overscrutinization on language or terms is someone else's personal problem/opinion. Thanks for sharing your info.

@libbydoodle11 - That's right up my alley, but no Indian Life store near 50 miles of me here in Michigan. Dang! The ingredients are interesting (vinegar and sunflower oil+). I may try using what's listed in my from-scratch attempts.

I'm with Mitch16. My SO and I ate tilapia like it was going out of style until he came across a news story about how they are fed animal feces and are raised in outdoor pools in industrialized areas in China. So check your frozen bags of tilapia and think twice about it. All the ones we bought at our local Meijer (a store…

All great suggestions above. Definitely build your pantry items, dry goods, and spices, sign up for rewards and loyalty programs, know what to eat seasonally, and plan your meals ahead of time and around sales. My local store doubles coupons up to 50 cents. Start to learn where the clearance sections of the stores you…
