Moroccan eggs (which I have for breakfast at least twice a week) and homemade Turtles (chocolates that aren't sold where I live, but which were always a MUST under the Christmas tree back in Canada).

Putting on my ski pants yesterday and realising they're really loose and super comfy (they were seriously close to exploding every time I put them on last March). I started off in August 2015 with 2 goals: one was to fit comfortably into my close again, and the second was to reach my goal weight. Super psyched I reached…

My two favourite and go-to breakfasts are ''my take on Moroccan eggs'' and banana-nut oatmeal. For the Moroccan eggs, I use about 2-3 Tbsp of bottled tomato pasta sauce (think Barilla or you can make your own with fresh tomatoes), Crystal hot sauce to taste and about 2 Tbsp of water and break two eggs into the mixture (in…

Sent you a friend request

I did. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Too much food, too much booze, not enough exercise. Boxing Day I got in a walk, and yesterday I weighed in 4 lbs heavier (I know a lot was water retention, but still not cool) which motivated some better food choices, no booze, and a 10 km walk. A few days of indulgence…

I love bacon too. I usually thaw a small pack a week (about 10 pieces) and we cook it up on the weekend (there's three of us, so about 3 slices each). I keep the grease, and use it tablespoon at a time throughout the week to sear fish (salmon, tuna, shrimp) and chicken, and to add flavour to sautéed vegetables (kale,…

Yes! to the links above. I also posted a while back on what was working for me. You can find it here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10280116/trust-in-the-process-the-results-will-follow#latest I'm now 2/3 of the way to goal, with bumps and challenges but steady progress. You're here, which means you've…

Seems like the trend is 3 lbs this morning! The scale was not kind to me either this morning, but the important thing is we're here and we're committed. The calories and the weight are just a blip  and today is a great day for a fresh start! We've got this people

Yay! This is my favourite thread this Christmas season  3,339 net calories over weekly goal this week, 3 days of total naughtiness, so there's a certain pound (though the scale is showing almost 4 lbs up this morning ... yikes!). Anyhow, I'm not stressed. Right back at 'er this morning, and actually psyched to be…

Ever since starting this weight loss journey in August 2015, I've weighed in daily. For me, it works, but in the beginning it was hard. I go up or down pretty much daily, so it took a while to get over the ups. I also use Happy Scale, so within a few weeks I could see the trend going down even if my weight on the day was…

My diary is open. I went about 2000 over what I am normally eating (1200-1500) on Christmas Day and expect to go over today as well as there is stuffing and gravy calling my name  . I'm not stressing about it. I got Pilates in this morning and Sunday is truly back to business. Keep on keeping on folks!

I'm new to the group, not really new to MFP. Started at 154, currently at 136ish, working my way to 125 lbs. 46 years old, looking to do this in a healthy, sustainable way. Very motivated by interaction on MFP.

Hi. I'm 45, working my way down from 154 lbs to 125, currently hovering around 136. I started gaining weight around 40 and have gone up and down since; I went down to 117 in 2012, but not in a healthy way, and the weight gradually crept up to my heaviest ever in August of this year. So I'm here and hopefully I've got it…

I'm still losing, and I weigh in every day. That may change when I hit goal; I'm not sure yet. I think it's whatever works for you mentally. For me, getting used to seeing the down-UP-down-up fluctuation has been reassuring. I'm a lot less scared of the scale than I was. I don't even really panic these days when I see a 3…

I don't find it's the glass of wine that's the problem; it's more that i seem to make less smart food choices when I have one or a few. So even though I've not eliminated having drinks, I now have them on special nights (usually if we're going out). That's just me personally; but dropping the nightly glass of wine has…

Beautiful, inside and out!

This ... I'll make the healthiest choices possible on Christmas Day, but not worry about going over. I will go for a long walk and I will log everything.

Most synthetic foods ... Walden Farms products being at the top of that list. Worse than the taste is the tummy ache they leave behind ...

Hi Rebecca. Very similar (except for age!). Was naturally 115-120 'til my mid-30's. Went up to 138 lbs during pregnancy and back down to 125 three weeks later and eventually to 120 lbs. Started gaining when I hit 40, tried off and on to lose (nearly starving myself down to 117 lbs in 2012), and in August of this year, at…

Just WOW! And the smile in your last pic just makes the whole story better. Congratulations on an amazing success story. Really, really, really inspirational.

I use WeightGrapher on my laptop, and HappyScale and PopWeight on my phone (PopWeight lets you manually track body fat %). For me, weighing in daily has actually helped me keep my mind OFF the weight! It took a month to get a good idea of how my weight is going down but I've seen a steady progress by tracking daily. Just…

Was super thin and fit 'til about 40. Ran 6 days a week. Ate well, and pretty much what I wanted. Then got sidelined with sciatica and what was eventually diagnosed as piriformis syndrome. For 2 years, even walking was hard. Moved to a job that had me sitting at a desk 8 hours a day. Welcomed pre-menopause into my life.…

Pre-planning and pre-preparing meals does it for me too. For the last 4 months I've been sticking to pretty much the same meals every day (salad with tuna, veg and balsamic glaze/evoo for lunch; Moroccan eggs or oatmeal with banana & nut butter for breakfast; fish or chicken breast with loads of veg for dinner; rarely…

I tried it with Pilates ... did a few dizzy planks!

I have also re-committed recently, with 30 lbs to lose. My perspective shifted this time around, from wanting to lose it instantly to wanting to lose it for good. From relying on the scale to trusting in the process. I had to change the way I ate in such a way that my husband and 10-year-old would be willing to live with…

For Canadian Thanksgiving this year it was just my husband, my 10-year-old and me, and it was a working day where we live. So we didn't have time to make a huge dinner but still wanted to capture traditional flavours. We actually managed to make it pretty healthy: we had boneless, skinless chicken breast, mashed potatoes,…

I get a terrible tummy ache when I eat their products, so I avoid them. Not too sure what's in them either, so that's an added incentive to stay away. I used to enjoy reduced-calorie dressings and products, but these days I tend to stick to ''the fresher the better'', and it's been working. Maybe not as fast, but I've…

Absolutely! Love seeing this. Focusing on my trend instead of my weight has been key to my ''so far'' success this time around. Still more than halfway from goal, but not discouraged even when I go a week without losing, because I now see the big picture. Congrats on an impressive loss!

You've got this! You're off to the gym, that's a great start  I too had to start over. It's been slow going, but it's going.
