Trust in the process, the results will follow
Hoping to bring a little hope to those who are staring at that needle on the scale that just won't budge. I started logging on MFP (again) at the end of August this year. I was at my heaviest weight ever, couldn't remove my wedding ring (not that I wanted to, but I got really scared when my finger actually started…

MFP inconsistencies in calculating calories expended for Garmin step readings
When calculating energy (calories) expended for steps walked, MFP seems to be all over the place. Sometimes MFP will tell me that 14,000 steps burns over 400 calories, but on other nights like tonight 14,000 steps will only earn me 20 +/- calories. Sometimes walking 7,000 steps earns me 600 calories. ????? Anyone else have…

Life isn't linear; nor is weight loss or motivation
I've spent the last five years or so failing at weight loss because my expectations of a daily continuously lower weight weren't met. This last time around, perhaps because I've reached the wise age of 45, I decided to approach weight loss the way I approach life: take the good with the bad, the ups with the downs, and…

Celebrating Fat Loss :-)
So I started this MFP journey in August 2015 at 154 lbs and 36% body fat (according to my Aria scale). While I realise that the body fat calculation on the scale is not exact, it's still a pretty good indicator when entered into a trending tool (I use the PopWeight app daily to graphically display my weight and fat loss…

Mayo and pickle juice ... share your food tricks :-)
I don't usually eat mayo, but when I do - let's say for a tuna salad sandwich, I've started mixing in a Tbsp of dill pickle juice (I just save the juice once we're done with the pickles) with a Tbsp of Hellmann's. It doubles the portion of creaminess and gives my sandwich a little more kick for zero calories. Does anyone…

Increasing calories while still 20 lbs from goal weight?
After months of a verrrrrry slow loss and week-long plateaus (average weight loss of 1 lb per week over 10 weeks), the last week has seen my weight drop daily (I weigh in daily to establish a trend). While I'm thrilled to be headed in the right direction, I'm afraid quick losses won't be sustainable or that my body will…

Weight Trending?
Is anyone else out there using a weight trend app or programme to record their weight loss? When I started logging again on MFP 2 months ago (end of August), I decided to try it and I'm amazed at how motivating I find it. To give you an example of how it works, if I were to rely on my scale weight only, I would have lost…
