  • Great thread, I recently started going back to the gym. it's not the same you guys are talking about I guess but I set the program to rolling hills and try and make 5k... which takes me around 46 minutes more or less. I mostly walk it at 6.4kmh (4.1mph) For some reason I always used to set my work out to a time or calorie…

  • It always surprises me... But I suppose if a) you're single and b) you've got it.. flaunt it? There was a woman at my old gym who would wear halter neck tops with tights (YES! TIGHTS!) and leg warmers before leg warmers came back in. And all her jewellery too

  • 210 and I'm 5'5 I'm at 165 or thereabouts now and I'd like to reach about 140ish
  • Have a look at my diary love, I'm having porridge in the morning, and then to be honest it's a bit of cheat but I'm having Tesco Light Choice meals as they are all around 400 cals or below (and on offer at the moment), so it's really easy to fit them into my day that way, then I have around 200 for snacks or a cheeky Gin…
  • Ahh, THIS is why I love MFP - everyone is so lovely and positive! Lacey I want to know your secret! I think my body is still getting used to not being fed sugar and fat constantly :-s Good luck everyone :-) x
  • I have gained an unfathomable amount in week... But then other weeks I can eat loads and loads and stay the same!
  • I've had this... several times over. It hurts so much, it comes from nowhere and slaps you in the face, it's humiliating. The only way to rationalise it, is to think that if they see a girl in a short skirt they will call her a slut or something, because they are cretins and generally awful people.
  • Welcome! I joined in the summer and got off to a great start, the support here is wonderful, I love supporting others too. I really need to get back on track and look at my weightloss with fresh eyes again, so cracking the whip on myself beginning this week. Good luck to you too!
  • yes count it.
  • Consider time of the month? Get your friends to look at your diary. Could be water retention.
  • I buy Hovis Wheatgerm in 400g loaf, I think it is around 50 odd cals per slice. And 66p per loaf - so cheaper than the rest (I am so tight I squeak when I walk)
  • Tell them you're training for a run or something.
  • Well done for getting motivated! It will vary, I don't know what the default is, but I don't think they can give you a really "true" reading. I pretty much take anything PTs say with a larger than average pinch of salt. Having spoken to more than I'd have liked to in my time I realise that they each have their own…
  • I weigh in (as in log) on a Monday for the same reason!! Plus I felt like it was a great place to start...
  • You know what, I think if I was doing this by myself I would have given up by now having plateaued for a months, lost a lbs, and then stayed the same for another 3 weeks, and this is my first loss in 3 weeks. But it's the support from my boyfriend and the pals i have made on this website that has kept me going regardless…
  • Oho! Glad you're the king of the world!
  • You know it may not just be the dairy - it could be the high sugars in icecream. So don't worry. Suggest that she tries something a little less high-sugar but dairy based.
  • In terms of McDonalds, Burger King, KFC etc I'd pretty much say that it's been on the rarest occasions - I'd never really CHOOSE to eat it, particularly not sober. But, I was put off that food at an early age and I've never really gone back to enjoying the taste of it. But fast food pizza... (I mean, I buy it from the…
  • By the way, you can get fitted properly in some stores where you walk/run on a treadmill and they use that to advise you of what trainer would be best for you
  • I wear Asics. I prefer them to other makes because they are very light and the fit my feet comfortably. I've had a pair of Saucony too and they were good but I think I'm an Asics girl at heart.
  • Well you've lost 10lbs since joining in Jul, I think that is pretty good. How quickly do you want the weight to come off? What are you doing to get there?
  • Make sure your fridge only has stuff that won't cause TOO much damage. And mini milks REALLY help - 30 calories and very sweet and tasty. Have small, regular meals so that you feel satisfied through the day - so for this week have 6 instead of 3 meals, might help you make better decisions when you do have cravings.
  • Plan to eat between a third to half of your exercise calories, you don't have to eat if you are not hungry, but it sounds as though you are!
  • Okay, I can't help, I too am rubbish and have a severe lack of strength in my arms. I am doing the wimpy ones right now, I'm going to try and do them regularly because I really want upper body strength! Mmmm.... my boyfriend doing push ups..... <3
  • My personal opinion is that fad diets (shakes, cutting out foods etc) do not work. What works is healthy eating, and exercising. But you can't do it for a week and expect to have everything you want fall into your lap. It takes time. Without wanting to sound as though I'm making a blanket judgement on you from one post, it…
  • 163lbs 5'5 Between a UK size 14 and 12 at the moment.
  • I've dropped people who are anorexic or bulemic because I like to have friends whose goals are similar to mine, which is to have a healthy relationship with food and become a healthy weight. It's important to me that I can relate to the friends I have on here so I look for similar outlook/weights/goals.
  • Wow, you're very beautiful. Your bone structure is gorgeous, well done you!
