I make something similar, but use couscous. I will often add garbanzo beans and/or low fat feta cheese along with my veggies of choice. Yummy!

A lot of places have decent options, but you really have to look. Most will have some kind of fruit slices as an option for the kids meals which can be bought seperate. Also, Wendy's chili is not bad- small is 210 calories, large 310. If you aren't sure what to get- stick with a kids meal. Starbucks is another great option…

I had the same issue- I am fine during the day, and plan my breakfast and lunch in advance. But I know when I get home I will be more apt to eat too many calories. I don't weigh fruits- I select the size (small, medium, large). I know this is not as accurate, but I don't think I have ever met anyone who is heavy because they ate too many bananas!
