I am currently on antidepressants (Effexor, and something else that helps me sleep). I gained about 15 lbs when I started them, and I'm just starting to try to lose weight now (past 2 weeks or so). So far I have lost 3 lbs.

Since I only have about 20 lbs to lose, and I suck at the exercising thing, I feel like my loss has been sort of slow. Just over 1lb per week so far, and I'm in my third week. I was hoping for something more miraculous, but I'd rather do it slowly and the "right way" than to lose a bunch really fast then gain it back. I…

Did you measure everything out correctly and double check the calorie counts? Sometimes the ones on MFP are higher/lower than actual.

Same here! Some days I exercise just so I can eat more...

Well, I'm scheduled to work. But if it looks like the Rapture is happening, I'll probably call in sick and go do some looting.

I like to boil or grill it, mix with buffalo sauce (Franks Red Hot is my favorite), then throw it in a low-fat wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, and some feta cheese. YUM!

With a history of anorexia, I would suggest seeing a doctor to help develop a weight loss plan. That way he/she can guide you along in a way that will be healthy for your body.

I love coffee!!! I work at a Barnes & Noble cafe (Starbucks coffee) a few shifts a week, and getting my coffee half off has led to a lot more coffee consumption. I usually opt for soy milk in my drinks, and my favorites are hazelnut lattes or caramel macchiatos!

I am curious to hear what other people have to say about this. I have never had one, but I've wanted to try one (as a part of a nice, wonderful full-day visit to a spa....)

Thanks guys! I've been drinking lots and lots of water, and trying to get some juice in there too. I've done a few walks, but so far that's all I've been able to do. I will trying doing some crunches or some light weight training, I should be able to handle that.

For me, it's yogurt. I don't mind yogurt if there's something crunchy in it like granola, or even fruit chunks, but if I try to just eat a plain bowl of yogurt the texture/consistency just doesn't work for me. I do love hummus though! Homemade is the best :)

I'm just getting started on this -- you've had great results!

Good advice, thanks!

I'm only happy when it rains.

It was probably Cold Stone.... I used to work there, and everything is HORRIBLE for you! Tastes good though, that's the downfall...

These sound delicious and I will be making them soon!

adorable!

Sounds tasty, but I would sub ground turkey!

Do you like reading? I can get lost in a book for hours on end....
-
Sounds like something I'd give a try! Usually I think gin tastes like pine needles, but it's worth a shot.

Oatmeal, granola bars, cereal, fruit... sometimes I'll say "screw it" and have a donut. Just depends on the day. Also, I like me some good old bacon, eggs, and breakfast potatoes every other weekend or so. If I keep the rest of the day low cal, its not a big deal. And if I eat a bigger breakfast, I'm usually not too hungry…

When I marinate stuff I usually estimate based on how much I put in to start with and how much is left in the bag that gets thrown away -- Usually I go with about half actually being in/on my food. I'd rather estimate a little up than a little under anyway.

That's what the Mayan calendar says. Some Christians have a different idea though (believers will be ascended into heave on sat, 3 months later God will destroy earth). I'm pretty sure the world is going to end when the sun goes supernova, and who knows when that will be.

I'm 5'2" and currently about 145, which puts my BMI in the overweight category. People always tell me that I don't need to lose weight, which frustrates me because I know I'm not in a healthy range! I want to get to about 120-125, which for my height is the middle-ish of the normal BMI.

I'm gonna wait to find out if it all happens. I mean, if all the believers ascend to heaven and I'm stuck here until Armageddon in October, I might as well die fat and eat whatever I want, ya know?

That's pretty much why I am here on MFP. I've been on antidepressants for about 2 years, a variety of combos, and they caused me to gain about 10-15 lbs. I haven't had any other lifestyle changes that would have caused the weight gain, so I blame the pills. It's just going to take a lot of extra work on my part to keep…

looks delicious!

Are you eating to your total calories? You need to eat to your total calories otherwise your body will go into starvation mode, which can cause you to not lose weight... Secondly... you could be losing fat but gaining muscle, so your weight is staying the same. Even better than using the scale is to take measurements so…

Protein is good after workouts, but you can get it through the foods you normally eat -- just make yourself a high-protein snack for after workouts. If you doctor advises you not to use protein powder, I would go with what he or she says.
