I agree.

Lunch for me is usually leftovers. My husband usually takes care of the rest.

They were, but I believe there was a very different mindset in that area back then. As with everything it would certainly vary by region/culture, and my memories are those of a child, but I don't believe that in general there was the same sense of entitlement then as now.

What/who do you mean by "the market" and what type of restraint do you mean?

Breakfast: big mug of tea Lunch: Leftover venison stroganoff Dinner: pulled pork sandwiches with bbq sauce and slaw, raw carrots and sugar snap peas, homemade pickle spears

I can't think of anything of this nature that I've bought. If it's a food that is porported to be healthy I might try it if it sounds good. I probably wouldn't do much research if it was something commonly eaten since obviously it's generally safe to eat and I like trying new foods. But I wouldn't continue to eat it if I…

Usually canola oil spray. If I saute veggies first, then olive oil.
-
I don't recommend it. I've stopped tasting stuff I loved as a child because it's never the same and just taints the memory.

It was around in the 70's too. We commonly had "ice milk" instead of ice cream. Ice milk was low-fat ice cream. And margarine full of trans fat was also common.
-
That would only be a factor if carbs weren't also eaten. But they were.

Ah, Tang! <3 Just like the astronauts. Gosh I loved that stuff!

What drugs did we have in the 70's that are not available now? We ate quite a bit of processed food at our house in the 70's. The only Chinese food I had until I was in my 20's came from a LaChoy can. Dinty Moore beef stew, Hamburger Helper, TV dinners, etc.

Breakfast: big mug of tea Lunch: salad of baby greens with leftover salmon, horseradish mustard vinaigrette. Dinner: Venison stroganoff and roasted brussel sprouts, radishes and carrots, red wine

I didn't have any more junk food then than I do now. I got fat eating mostly "healthy food". It was only the amount that was unhealthy.

I was also a child in the 70's. We had dinner out every Sunday on our way to visit my grandmother. Takeout wasn't often though because options where I grew up were very limited until I was in high school. But we had KFC 2-3 times a month. That's really the only takeout options I remember until the late 70's when Taco Bell…

Breakfast: Big mug of tea Lunch: Probably nothing Dinner: Blackened salmon, sauteed brussel sprouts, sweet potato and onions.

#2 is the big one. #1 makes no sense. We ate plenty of sugar in the 70's.

No, that's not what they are saying at all. It's not about what someone deserves it's about what they expect for someone else to give them for free.

OR 4. Celebrate your birthday while eating withing your calorie goals and enjoy! The notion that sticking to goals on a birthday = miserable is all kinds of wrong.
-
If you want to stick to your goals on your birthday then have a light breakfast in bed. Decide whether you want some light takeaway for the evening or you'd rather prepare a nice light dinner at home. It's okay to make new normal habits. That's what a lifestyle change is, right?
-
I usually just smile and say I'm not sure that's how it works. Why is he insisting you need breakfast if he and his friends have been intermittent fasting naturally?

A wide variety of foods I like.

Breakfast: Big mug of tea Lunch: leftover shrimp & egg fried rice Dinner: It's national pizza day! So, we are having homemade pizza. One will be hot Italian sausage, fresh basil, spinach and tomato with provolone and parmesan. Other will be pepperoni, jalapeno and mushroom with mozzarella.

There is a big difference in banning soda and not wanting your tax dollars to pay for it for others. It really strikes me as sad and weird that anyone would such a fuss over free soda. smh
-
I would, but that's me. It sounds like home workouts would better fit your lifestyle and schedule right now.

There are only a few ways to lose fat.
-
Physically, fat loss is the same after menopause or hysterectomy as before. You have to eat less calories than you burn off. Water weight can be problematic if your hormones are not controlled. And lifestyles can change with age.

It's kind of hard to tell from just this bit of information but probably not. Moving every day is not harmful (barring medical restrictions, of course). But it would depend in the length and intensity of the classes, as well as what else you do during the day to determine if this is too much for you. If you don't feel…

Fat has 9 calories per grams whether it comes from olives, corn, grapeseed, soy, etc. I use olive oil for most of my cooking but if I want high heat cooking I typically go for peanut oil. Both have similar calories. To reduce calories I use less oil. Oil sprays can help coat the pan with less oil.
