  • I literally just had to do this last Monday. I just walked over there and didn't pay attention to anyone else. I've been in the freeweights section 4 times now, and it's really fun. The guys usually have their headphones in and aren't paying any attention to me. Its kinda nice to get some glances like woah, theres a woman…
  • Agree. As a student we have to budget everything. I even have my mom and fiance helping me out financially and I still need to budget everything. Not all of us have extra money to buy exercise info when we can find similar info for free.
  • It's not that bad to quit soda cold turkey. It was my new years resolution and I still haven't had any :) Although New Years Day next year I may be funneling mt. dew like a freshman college kid :p Although I'm not a chronic drinker like you, I think you can do it. I never lost weight from giving it up, but i've always been…
  • lmao cut the guy a break! he's in his 60's!!!!!
  • My first 5K was 5/24/2012, and was 27:22, but keep in mind I had been running for almost a year already. My most recent was 7/28/12 and was 26:29.
  • John Stamos in Full House... Oh Uncle Jesseee..... sigh......
  • I'd be happy waking up and looking like this.... :)
  • maybe do skim milk instead? it will help you segue to a darker coffee and be less calories.... my philosophy is that if you eat well and exercise, treating yourself to that one pleasure (for me its whole milk and sugar in my coffee) then you'll be fine. I've tried switching to a little skim milk and splenda or other…
  • some might say this is b*tchy of me, but actions speak louder than words. what I would do is seriously consider leaving or kicking him out for like a week or two and when he asks why tell him you need to get used to life without him because at the rate he's gaining weight/being the size he is, he's not going to be around…
  • lol you just have to experiment and see what works for YOU. I make sure I go before races and long runs, but if its 4 miles or less I dont eat before or go before, I just drink some water. Then by the time I come back and stretch, THAT's when I'm ready to go. Do what works for you haha :p
  • New Rules of Lifting for Women. :) Just starting it and love it. It's very individual based because you start with whatever weights are good for YOU, and for things like pushups, there are modifications :)
  • I have it but I never use it... I always forget about it. :-/
  • I love seeing girls in the free weights area or on the weight machines instead of eternally latching themselves onto the cardio machines :) I also love seeing people who aren't plugged into headphones 100% of the time. Call me old fashioned, but every once in a while I like to talk to people around me. (not super long…
  • My running/workout playlist, in alphabetical order, with beats per minute :) I don't have too much time on my hands or anything :p 85 Asteroids Galaxy Tour – The Golden Age 150 Avril Lavigne – What the Hell 173 Avril Lavigne – He Wasn’t 82 Awolnation – All I Need 95 Awolnation – Kill Your Heroes 141 Basshunter – I Can Walk…
  • Along with what everyone else said, if you're not used to working out, then you will probably actually gain some muscle and lose some fat, but the number on the scale will go up even though you may slim down a bit. :)
  • This. If your significant other isn't happy with what you've cooked for dinner, tell them to get their @ss in the kitchen and make their own d@mn dinner!
  • Start running and New Rules of Lifting for Women? :) Spinning?
  • EW EW EW. Couldn't stop looking at them.... EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. If I'm alone I'll kill spiders but if anyone else is near me I make them do it. And my basement doesn't bother me, nor does going outside at night. However I HATE attics.... Probably because there's constantly a hornet's nest in my mom's attic... *shiver*
  • you really should take a rest day every now and then. Your body needs them to recover and get stronger and better. I started running because I splurged on a treadmill $200 for a $1,200 TM at Sears Outlet :) and I was determined to actually use it. I started with intervals until I could run awhile and then transitioned…
  • If you've never run before, intervals of jogging and walking actually are the way to go. And you may even need to bring it down to 30 seconds of jogging with 1 min of walking. Walk/run intervals will build your endurance until you can do 5 minutes straight or a mile straight. THEN work on building mileage (no more than 10%…
  • There are plenty of workout videos on youtube that go anywhere from quick 10 minute workouts to full out 50 minutes or so. You can find zumba, pilates, yoga, circuit training, even things like Insanity and P90X can be found for free. As long as you have internet and a little space to work in :) As for dieting, that's my…
  • I agree with everyone else that says go to a store. Your ankle flexibility, arch height, gait, and goals will all factor into what shoe will work best for YOU to keep you injury free and comfy :) Right now I'm using Brooks Adrenaline (last years version) and Saucony Progrid Ride's (also last years version). I'm due for an…
  • mcdonalds angus burger and fries..... and anything from dunkin donuts. Every other fast food place i can resist no problem. But that burger, those fries and Dunkin in general... uhhhh mouthgasm.
  • It'd be more central NY than upstate.
  • Lol, hate to tell you but Binghamton is NOT upstate NY. I'm originally from up near Watertown. Now THAT's upstate NY. :p Now that that's cleared up, I used to do indoor because I was nervous about people watching me work out, being judged, or being kidnapped/raped/murdered/etc (I tend to get anxiety). Once I got in better…
  • Option two. Since they're both nude they're not gonna draw attention away from the dress, but the bow is sleek and matches the folds in the dress. :) plus its just cuter. I never understood buying plain jane heels. If you're going to go with heels make them have a little flair :)
  • Thanks everyone! I'm enjoying the different perspectives, and it's helping to calm me down a bit. I'll be reading and re-reading the exercises I'll need to know for stage 1 so that I'll have a good idea of what's going to happen when I get in there. Also, does anyone know about how long it takes to do the workouts in stage…
  • you're just jealous that you're not in the Olympics, silly meathead. stop being so ignorant.
  • Everything mentioned in all of these posts. Except the gu energy gel thing. I don't get confused because I know what they are, but I've never tried them because I'm frugal and I don't run far enough to feel as though I need them :p I also don't consider a 5K a "baby" distance. it's the one I enjoy the most because I can…
  • Agree. And different people have different ways of interacting with kids and what they see as acceptable. Better to just keep things professional and leave it at that.
