I've been running for only 1 1/2-2 years so I'm still pretty new, but in my experience it is best to have two different types of shoes. I would have a pair of trail shoes (stiffer, thicker soles with considerably more tread) for the dirt/snow/ice running. They will give you traction and protection from sticks/protruding…

Some activity she can cross off her bucket list. Like skydiving or riding in a hot air balloon or a sled dog ride or visiting california or surfing or white water rafting orr..... you get my drift.

Are you a normal coffee drinker? Because I know that even a half a cup of coffee makes me shaky and sick. I am fine with decaf but the caffeine in normal coffee makes me so ill. 1,200 might be too little everyone's different!

Musicalboats- i'm not much of a "do-it-yourself"er! Meeshers- I never thought of the cheap one over a good one.... and I've googled/amazoned it to. I think I'm so stuck on how much I love Moving Comfort that I'm afraid to try any other brand!!

anyone? come on ladies I need help!

If it is something that is concerning you a lot, maybe you should go to your doctor for a checkup and ask questions about where you're at and where you want to go. Professional advice is probably best on this matter because being "too thin" can be detrimental.

as many people have already said, it really is subjective. I follow the book New Rules of Lifting for Women, which is like 13 dollars or so on Amazon. I've really enjoyed the information and the workouts :) it helps clear up misconceptions about weight lifting and gives guidelines as to how to know where to start.

^^ THIS!! I printed off inspirational fitness quotes about food such as, "eat to live, don't live to eat" and "the difference between want and need is self control" and stuck them on the fridge! hopefully this will make me think twice before mindlessly moving the food into the living room and munching for hours while…

think of it as a treat. it's something that happened and now we move on. try and exercise a little extra and get right back to the grind! everyone slips up now and then :) you won't die from this one time!

that's complete BS. there are plenty of 5K's that are even walk/runs, and people walk the whole time. ANNND I even know people that do a local 15K in our area that impulsively sign up with no training and run/walk it. And that race is wayyyy more competitive than a 5K, with first place finishers receiving $1,000+. I don't…

I've heard some people put their alarm in the other room, like smboston said. Once they're up they're up, and if they don't get out of bed then they listen to that annoying alarm and are awake anyway. Might as well do something now that you're awake! Personally, I'm too neurotic to have my phone that far away from me :p

Honestly, sometimes it takes a low blow to the self-esteem to get things in motion. Self-esteem can be rebuilt, and will be stronger when he's worked to get himself to a healthy place and a place where friends/peers will be more accepting of him. Sometimes a shock is the only way to light the fire. That being said, The…

agreeing with everyone who doesn't put dumbbells or weights from the barbell back where they belong, as well as people who are on their phones constantly on the cardio machines. If you can text/facebook/whatever and laugh and giggle and not pay attention to what you're doing, then you aren't really working out. Get off the…

bump to read later... just also got a family size crock pot but have nooo idea what to make with it!!

sometimes your body just gets fatigued and you need to let it rest for awhile. if you keep pushing you risk injuring yourself, letting your immune system become susceptible to germs, and giving up on exercises. take a couple days and just relax, get plenty of rest/sleep, and then give it another try. It may also be mental…

wearing yoga pants or leggings under your shorts helps tremendously. they might still ride up a little but you wont notice it as much and it will be 1,000 times comfier.

oops hadn't read the one above me yet!! sorry for reiterating!

not only what everyone else said, but your skin might not have shrunk yet... especially if you've lost the weight quickly. give your skin time to adapt :p
-
that is absolutely incredible :) you should feel very proud of yourself.

Actually, I have read the other threads. I'm just saying that if other drinks besides plain water were to be counted as water they would have put the word "liquids" instead of water. Grab a dictionary, there's a difference between the two.
-
lmao
-
OH MY GOOOOODDDD there have been so many threads on this EXACT TOPIC! please search for them before starting yet another thread on what counts as water. BTW WATER is the only thing that counts as WATER. everything else is not WATER, or it would be called water. But it's not.

I get up at 6 but I know someone who gets up at 3:30 to eat and then waits an hour to start his run at 4:30. I think he's crazy.

Once I got the physical stamina to run distances, I started getting bored and combated it by signing up for a race! Then I had a goal to work toward and every run wasn't just a "run" or a waste of time with no bigger picture. Each run became a tool to bring me one step closer to my goal of speed and endurance to do well in…

I was using 20lbs and a guy next to me yesterday was using 15, did less reps than me, and looked like he was struggling more. I felt a little proud of myself but I also felt proud of him for being there :)

I have D/DD (depending on the bra brand) and I run just fine, 4-6 days a week. Moving Comfort sports bras are a godsend for me. Just get into running slowly so you can strengthen your joints and get them used to a higher-impact sport while doing something like circuit training, biking, or the elliptical to strengthen your…
