The myth that won't die, no matter how many times we post the Mayo Clinic links. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/caffeinated-drinks/AN01661 - Caffeine is only a diuretic in extremely large quantities. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/water/NU00283 - for hydration purposes, all fluids count toward your total.

Do NOT put visine in someone's food/drink. It can kill them. It does NOT cause diarrhea, it can cause severe depression of your central nervous system. http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/visine.asp

I don't pay attention to what anyone else is doing at the gym.
-
Ditto to the day-old cold rice. Use sesame oil and don't stir too much. Soy sauce at the end.

I used a crossfit band (effectively subtracted 35 lbs of my body weight) to learn unassisted chinups and pullups. They're like $20 and you can loop them over any bar. I've read that the seated lat pull-down machine takes your core muscles out of the equation.
-
Probably water. It would be almost impossible to build any significant amount of muscle in a week.

Sidewalks aren't a good running surface anyways - concrete is a significantly harder material than asphalt so your shins take a real beating from all the pounding. I always run on the side of the road wherever it's safe to do so, or on a paved trail.
-
No. But at least those don't affect your finances.
-
THANK YOU.

Which is only half of the equation. How the tax code applies to an individual person's situation is the other half. Tax codes are not like laws of nature...
-
Haha, and meanwhile the guy at H&R Block told me all I had to do was drink these meal replacement shakes his cousin sells, so how come I'm not losing weight?!?
-
Everything you've just said is pure guessing. I'm certainly not going to base my tax strategy on bad information and strangers guessing at my financial information, and neither should OP. I'm surprised that you're still arguing with me about this.
-
Yes, and now they have a different situation, so unless you're looking at their numbers you don't know how it has affected their overall tax situation, and people telling them that they'll be fine as long as they pay the full balance by April 15th have no idea if that's true or not.
-
Maybe, maybe not. I'm not a tax advisor so I can't tell OP what's best for their situation. I can tell OP that there is a lot of factually incorrect information in this thread, as several people have repeated the "you're okay as long as you pay by April 15th" statement. I wouldn't go to H&R block with questions about…

If/when those go into effect, they're always forward-looking (i.e. for income earned in 2013, not 2012).
-
This is absolutely not true. There can be penalties for under withholding. http://www.ehow.com/facts_5855417_penalty-underwithholding-taxes_.html Moral of the story - get your tax advice from a tax advisor, not a weight-loss site.

You have to use raw almonds, I think.
-
I've never made it, but other recipes say it yields about a quart of almond milk per cup of almonds. On par with what you'd pay for almond milk at the store.

No one ever says "I didn't get around to taking a shower today, I guess I'll just stop showering." Or takes three showers the next day to make up for it. Log it, learn from it, and move on.
-
I think that's McDonalds' entire strategy with the McRib and why they keep "bringing it back" - they take it off the menu long enough for people to forget how mediocre it is, and then reintroduce it with fanfare and Limited Time Only.

Prelog an estimate of your exercise and spread them out throughout the day. Or focus on the weekly number rather than the daily number (this is what I am currently doing). So you can have a lower day earlier in the week and a higher day on the weekend, and your weekly deficit still works out the same.

Cream, sugar, etc don't magically make the coffee or tea "unusable". You just have to make sure you remember to also count the calories. Same thing for gatorade, fruit juices, milk, etc.
-
Does anyone read the thread before they post anymore? This has been debunked in this thread at least 10 times. Caffeine is not a diuretic in reasonable amounts that 95%+ of us drink!!!
-
You know what dehydrates me? Constantly debunking the myth that tea and coffee are diuretics. I'm gonna go drink some more coffee to hydrate.
-
I did, and then I got a PhD from one of the top research institutions in the country. So, when you say "It's a chemical reaction therefore it does change the molecular properties of the water." - the water changes from H2O to what, exactly? And when you said " Notice such words as "oxidation," "hydrogen acceptors," and…
-
Constantly repeating 'coffee is a diuretic' doesn't make it true...
-
Soaking a tea bag in water, or passing water over coffee grounds does not chemically change the water. It's still H2O, with tea or coffee suspended in it. Also, caffeine does not have a diuretic effect until you consume over 500mg (about 5-7 cups a day) and even then it is a short-lived effect if you are doing it…

I'm not the boss of you.
-
If you're eating humans (i.e. "tasting" them) then you're no longer following a catabolic diet.
-
Why would you want to make your body eat itself? If all you're eating is fruits and vegetables, your body is going to use your muscles as a protein source.
