Vicki, my sister is working on this same project. She is replacing her tub with a walk-in shower with bench, soap niche and grab bars and her quote was around $3200, I think. This price does not include demo, because she and her friends did that, including pulling off old tile and breaking up the tub and getting it out.…

A little more explanation for those who read the first saga: My husband had another hernia pop up. this time around his belly button close to where the incision for the scope for his previous hernia surgery is located. He's at the surgeon now for an opinion. Bless his heart. He tries so hard to be healthy, and he hates…

Okie, yay for water! We had to have a new pump back in the fall. We were never totally without water, just really low pressure. I can’t imagine being out for as long as you were. I am so spoiled. Beth, thanks for checking in. We are here for you however much or little you feel like posting. Welcome to the newbies! I’ll put…

I have the Kindle app on my phone so I can read my book. That's what I usually do when I'm waiting at a doctor's office or somewhere similar. I can check email, text, check this site and the debt free site I frequent, browse Amazon, play Candy Crush or Words with Friends. I don't play the games in public unless I turn the…

Oh, Beth. My heart is breaking for you. Hugs, hugs, and more hugs.

Snowflake, I had never noticed, so would have said no, but there it is! Right in the middle of my screen on my ipad. Crazy!

What is the thinking circle? If I have it, I’m unaware.

Here is a picture of mine with my breakfast. I used 3 5.3 oz cartons of Trader Joe’s plain Greek Yogurt and 2 cups of White Lily Self Rising Flour, egg wash, and Everything Bagel seasoning. 8 bagels. I put most in the freezer.

Debbie, this is not Lisa's recipe, but it is good, easy and fast. Just use equal parts of self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. A cup of yogurt and a cup of flour makes 4 regular sized bagels. I make them into a bagel shape by poking a hole in the middle with my finger and shaping the dough. You can also do it by making a…

Lisa wins the thread for the best workout of the day! I meant to comment on Pip's rug the other day. I had to take my iPad to the living room and compare because it looks so much like mine. It is different, but has all the same colors. So, of course I like it! I need to work all day today so I'm keeping this short. Y'all…

I'm caught up with reading again. I will comment on some with apologies to those who deserved a reply but I neglected. Beth, I actually teared up for you reading the story of your son's experiences in the group home. I am so angry on your behalf. On the separate finances: Dave and I married when we were both young and…

Yes and no. I use YNAB (You Need a Budget) software. It is web based and tied to our checking account and both credit cards (Kroger and Amazon). Our other accounts are tracked but not tied to the budget so I enter those transactions manually. We categorize every single penny and track all spending. I started doing this…

My husband asked for chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese sandwich for supper since he had his second Covid shot today and wanted something light. We had the soup in the freezer. He had two pieces of bread, that's all - the first side was beautiful and golden brown, the second side - yep, I burnt it. He ate it, too,…

I was probably on my iPad. I never use my phone for MFP. Right now I'm on the computer. If I'm going to quote someone, I much prefer the computer, but the vast majority of the time that I'm reading posts, I'm in my recliner on my iPad. Upon reflection, I don't really think it was my device's fault. I think I probably just…

Thought I'd check in. I wrote a really nice post with lots of wisdom and encouragement about a week or so ago and it went poof. Since then I've been pouting. Not because of you guys, but because I don't have time to deal with temperamental MFP shenanigans. I've over-extended myself again so will be in and out - reading and…

I thought about a car, but I’d need more than $10,000. Then I thought about furniture but I don’t think I need that much furniture. Then I thought if the Apple store. I could get tablets for both of us, phones for both of us, a laptop for me, a desktop for Dave and a new printer. Accessories for all. That ought to take…

Teresa, the sweet potato pie recipe was delicious. The cookies I made today - not so much! I had bananas that were too ripe. My plan was to make banana bread, but then this recipe came across my FB feed that was bananas, apple sauce, rolled oats, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nuts and chocolate chips. I had everything…

You said this so much better and with way fewer words than I.

Machka, if you’re good with micro-organizing, definitely check out At Home with Nikki. She has tours of her spaces and shows what she’s done. What I like about clutterbug is that she acknowledges that not all organizing systems work for all personalities. Favorite room of the house: I do not do well with these questions.…

My dream home would be very close to our current house. The only things I’d like to have that I don’t are his and her closets in the master and another small room that could be used as a home gym. Anything much bigger than that and I wouldn’t want to clean it. There are things I would change in the kitchen, like a floor to…

Dana K White - A Slob Comes Clean (my favorite) Dawn Madsen - The Minimal Mom For Organizing Cassandra Aarssen - Clutterbug.me [she also has an HGTV show called Hot Mess House For Inspiration (these are way too anal for some. The reason I like Dana, Dawn and Cas is that they make it real. I don't follow any of these except…

Good morning, all. I'm still feeling empowered and successful today. I've made it almost a week without an after dinner ice-cream snack. I've been saving my protein shake until after dinner and having it with chocolate protein powder, frozen banana, almond milk, and lots of ice in place of the ice cream. This has worked…

Welcome @cj3teach! So glad you have joined us. I have successfully followed my food boundaries this week and as a result have dropped 1 1/2 lbs. I don’t know why I have such trouble remembering that the plan works when you work it! I am 2 lbs away from being out of the obese category on the traditional height/weight chart.…

This has happened to me twice with the toes next to my smallest toe. I asked the doctor and he said my nails had been traumatized! The fit experts at the running shoe store said it was caused from my toe pushing against my shoe, more than likely from the elliptical. I have a friend who is an avid runner who also had it…

Debbie, my heart breaks hot you. Allie, continued prayers for your healing. Meg, welcome back! I had a pie crust left over from Thanksgiving that was about to expire and a can of sweet potatoes taking up too much room in the cabinet so made a sweet potato pie from the Skinny Taste site. I only ate a small sliver. It was…

I love me some Dana K White but most of her YouTube videos are long and boring - just a head's up! I really don't have time to watch an hour of her helping someone declutter using her method - one of those is enough! Her newest one, though, isn't bad. Where she shines is blog posts, podcasts, and her books. And her honesty…

I'm so sorry you fell. I'm here to tell you, this falling is serious business. I was told by my doctor on Wednesday that my pinkie will never be the same again - it will have a permanent bend at the lower knuckle. He says it is important to keep stretching it with physical therapy and the most important thing is to try to…

40 minute presentation without preparation.. Several different types of how to talks... best way to organize your kitchen, decluttering strategies, pretty much any high school math topic, how to write a good sermon, different strategies for losing weight and what has and hasn’t worked for me, teaching strategies to engage…

Barbara way to go, making me go back and find Lisa's post so that I could see her word. Considering my late grandfather's occupation, I should have thought of that meaning, too, but I didn't. I love the word with Lisa's take on it. Michele, your trees are lovely. No way could I handle storing that many Christmas…

Oh, Viv! How fun that we’re going to be in the Take Your House Back class together, I am a Bee with A lot of Cricket tendencies. I don’t need to see everything- but I do like my most commonly used items easily accessible. I am not a minimalist, but I also don’t like a lot of clutter. I’m looking forward to the…
