High-calorie food is everywhere. The world (and your workplace) is not going to change for you - we all just have to learn how to deal with it and realize not everyone has the same health/calorie/life goals as us.

Feel free to add me.

Then you know you're just bored and not actually hungry. :) Take up a hobby, get out of the house, etc.!

I very seriously think you would benefit by speaking to a professional counselor. What you're attempting to achieve and how you're attempting to achieve it sounds obsessive and unhealthy, TBH.

"How interesting that you think so. Anyway, have you seen Aunt Janice lately? What's she up to?" Don't be embarrassed. Don't engage. Don't let other people negatively influence your journey. It's easier said than done, but success is the best revenge. :)

It's not the types of food, but rather the calorie counts of those foods that matters for weight loss. Are you in a calorie deficit?
-
It gives me determination to do the right things for weight loss each day, no matter if the number is higher or lower than the previous day.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but how old is the bra? Vanity sizing has hit the lingerie market, too.

This is an article in layman's terms, but if you google "adaptive thermogenesis and refeeding" you'll get all the relevant studies, if that's your thing - http://superhumanradio.com/blog/metabolic-adaptation-to-caloric-restriction-and-subsequent-refeeding.html "Interestingly, the lag-period also suggests that any metabolic…

Do you log your "cheat meals?"

The most accurate result on the scale is the one that you use consistently, in the same conditions. Buy a home scale and measure against the same conditions - i.e. early morning, on a Saturday, in your birthday suit, on the kitchen floor, etc. A good mindset to have is that whatever weight does come up, is your starting…

No. This is utterly false.

Opening your diary would be very helpful.

41 down, 62 to go. Feel free to add me if you'd like! You can do this!

I wouldn't even engage, honestly. "Interesting!" Cue walking away.

Cleanses, "jump starts," etc., are not needed for weight loss - skip looking for a quick fix and take the time to educate yourself on CICO. That will set you up for long-term success.

There is no such thing as starvation mode. It's a myth.

No. Bread calories are the same as any other calorie. Running burns calories, certainly, but again, it's no more special than any other calorie burn in terms of weight loss. CICO.

If you can go the rest of your life without eating a cupcake, um... good for you, but I sure can't - and won't.
-
... I also make grilled cheese with olive oil, not butter. I'll just show myself out...

It does not matter for weight loss - you'll lose just as much or as little with "clean" calories or "junk" calories. "Health" is a whole other matter. ^^so many necessary quotes. Gah.

In general, I agree. With eggs? PSHHHH. (I'm weird, don't hate me.)

Non-stick pans FTW! ;)

Steroids can also cause fluid retention - it's not just increased hunger.

I try to look up the menu/nutrition info and make my choice ahead of time. I'm also a big fan of taking home half of my meal to eat the following day.
-
Let me flip it back on you - why do *you* want this?
-
Sounds rough! What about like, quiche or something similar to http://allrecipes.com/recipe/20917/egg-and-hash-brown-pie/?
-
Blasphemy. ;)

I think it sounds like some couples counseling would do you both good in this instance. Do you think he'd be open to that?
