Personally, I track only plain water as water - simply because if I tracked diet soda as water, that's all I'd drink. Tracking only water is a reminder to me to put down the caffeine, and pick up some good old H20. At the same time, however, I don't stress if I miss my water goal for the day, because I know I've certainly…

Get out. J/k. ;)

Low-cal snack in the purse is a must-have for me. Alternate glasses of water with any calorie-laden drinks at meal times. Skip cabs and walk when you can. ... but enjoy yourself, moderately. :)

Unless your app doesn't automatically update your calorie goals based on weight gained/lost. Then you may have to update goals after. :/ #pleasefixthisfeaturemfp

Find foods that you find satisfying and also fit your calorie goals, and eat those.

Good aim. :) I'm a huge proponent of doing now as you mean to do in the future - eliminating whole food groups, eating at certain times, etc. are not sustainable for the long run, IMHO. Do I believe a calorie is a calorie? 95% of the time, yes. There are outliers, odd circumstances, freaks of nature, etc., but honestly,…

I'm lucky and have quite a few steps built-in - two blocks to my bus stop, three blocks from the bus stop to my building, HUGE building that takes quite a bit of time to get anywhere... and a connected skyway system. I definitely take advantage of the skyways and try to get in at least a 30 minute walk. OP, can you try…

Great conversation! Love this thread. Throwing in my two cents that I feel like I'm giving up enough on this journey - I'm observant of Lenten requirements, but since it's not a requirement to give up something extra, I'm skipping it. All those extra calories? Yeah, Jesus, those were for you.

I mentally compare lazy vs. accomplished. "Ok, so right now you feel slothful, guilty, bored and anxious. On the other hand, if you were to stop being a lazybetch and go workout, you'll feel accomplished and like a BADASS MOTHAFUCKA. GET UP OFF THIS COUCH." Boom. Most of the time, boom. (but sometimes not, sometimes…

I personally don't do cheat days. The only person I'd be cheating on is me - and my success.

Unless the bag says otherwise, I'd count the weight as the product is sold - i.e. if the chicken is sold frozen, I'd weigh it frozen.

The problem with intuitive eating and maintaining weight is that we are, at a base level, hard-wired to seek out high-calorie, fat/sugar dense foods... which are now abundantly available to us in never-before seen proportions. See the issue? In my very, very (admittedly) judgmental opinion, intuitive eating as practiced by…

Is there a reason you keep creating almost exactly the same post?

It does get so confusing! Psuedo-science, magic tricks and pure lies abound. Personally, I'll stand behind CICO all day, every day. It just plain works. As to food, I try to keep a good balance between healthier items (since they're usually, but not always, lower calorie) and foods that I know will keep me satisfied and…

Feel free to add me. :)

MFP does not automatically adjust it for me. Every week I have to go in manually, click on my goal weight, change nothing, and hit save. Then it re-adjusts my calorie goal. One of my biggest pet peeves about MFP, actually.

I think I'm the odd duck out that doesn't find yoga that relaxing - maybe I'm too self-conscious. What I find most relaxing are nature walks - with or without music.

Thanks so much, y'all!

Current power song - Taio Cruz, Higher. Followed by a little Barracuda if I need an extra boost.

UGH. Yes, the double-talk.

Same. I upgraded from the Polar FT7 to the A300 - I find Polar to be amongst the most accurate (I've worn Fitbit, Jawbone and Misfit), it's waterproof, you can pair it with the chest strap, the app is great... the only thing I'm missing is some of the color/gadgets of the Apple Watch and the like, but I can do without that…

I just took a list of things I really want, but rarely buy myself, and set them down for each 10 pounds lost, as well as bigger milestones (onederland, BMI changes, goal, etc.). Some examples would be: a facial, new art for my apartment, a particular bracelet I've been wanting, a few books, etc. Big goal is a trip to CA +…

Can you open your diary?

I liked it - about three-four program changes ago. I lost about 85 pounds, but I also figured out how to "cheat" the system to get the most bang for my buck, points-wise. Since points can have a range of calories, you can easily end up over-eating. Did I put it all back on? You bet. And they brought some friends. Honestly?…

Vegetables. Pretty much all of them. :( I'm getting better, but it's a lonnnnnng road and it makes all this much more difficult as they're such a good source of low-cal bulk foods.

It's not really a better habit, but I've got my phone in my hand the whole time. Busy hands = not even thinking about what's in my kitchen cupboards.

259 darts. That's so many pointy things!

Could you open your diary? That would be helpful.
