  • Yep I generally wait until I've gone below 100 bpm. The other thing is my basal rate says that I'd burn 86 calories per hour even if I'm sleeping so I typically take that off of my exercise burn. So if my HRM says I've burned 300 cals and I've worked for 1 hour, that's 214 exercise cals. If I've burned 300 cals over an…
  • Great thanks -- think I'll do that
  • Hey Sbperry72 -- callaloo is a hybrid spinach. I come from Caribbean parentage, my Dad grew this stuff for years. Unfortunately, he's gone home now so I have to resort to this canned stuff. The can says it contains callaloo and water and salt (for 152 cals). The recipes you refer to may contain callaloo, but do not define…
  • Thanks MFP buddies! The can says calalloo water and salt. Not sure how water and salt can affect the spinach but I'll take your advice and go for fresh next time. Shame really cos the iron count was great.
  • Indian restaurants generally do a nice tandoori grill, if you had that with extra salad and a bit of rice you should be around 600 I reckon....

  • Try this link to the Polar website: http://www.polar.fi/en/products There is a button there that enables you to compare products by function. I've had a few different HRMs. I started out with a mid range one that showed heart rate and calories burned. I then bought one for my husband, but he's a swimmer and can't use it,…
  • Hello there, I've had 3 C-sections. I have strength in my abdominals but no tone. I'm hoping once I get to my goal weight it will all pull back into shape. After my second C-section, I got back into real good shape, ran a marathon with no saggy tum. One of the abs exercises that really helped me was lying on my back,…

  • Your calorie intake is too low, your body is going into storage mode. Almost panicking and grabbing everything you eat to put into storage. If you want to keep your metabolism up, increase your intake of raw fruit and veg throughout the day. Good Luck and hang in there!!

  • Have you ever tried wearing a heart rate monitor? You can borrow one and it will give you an accurate reading based on your heart rate and body weight. Worth a try?
  • Hey kiwi_dee, Much much appreciated. So back to work eh? How old are your children? You've lost 10kg already -- seems like you have embarked on your journey and are making great progress.
