I've been taking a potassium supplement with a big glass of water right after breakfast. I take it after because the stuff is kind of hard on my stomach. Ive noticed a real difference in the swelling in my ankles which used to happen if I went over 1,000 mg of sodium a day. It really does help.

Nature Valley granola bars come in a two pack. I take a quarter of a banana sliced very thin and place this on top of a teaspoon of peanut butter spread thin on each piece of granola bar. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and sometimes sprinkle a teaspoon of sunflower seeds. I wrap this up in plastic and refrigerate it.

No, I won't even admit the most calories I've consumed in one sitting. Now that I'm keeping my calories under 1,400 a day I would say that 550 is the most I've consumed in one sitting.

I say yes. I've been back and forth trying to just cut portion size but I find that I am not accurate on my calories unless I measure and weigh. It takes some getting used to and I found myself getting impatient when measuring stuff. Now I know most things by heart! I'm a walking calorie counter!

Thanks for the pictures too! These look great. I'm going to make some in the morning.

LOL!!!! Well, almost. Its a pain for sure.

Go ahead!!! I need encouragement too. Nothing more discouraging than having a little bunch of "friends" who are never logging in or who can't be bothered with just a little "hello how are you doing". Go ahead and add me!! Jeannie

Grieving is a process that is different with each individual. There are books on this subject you might look up. There are stages a person goes through. The most important thing I can suggest for you is to keep the happiest moments you had foremost in your mind. We all need to keep Hope alive! The end result, when the…

Snowing outside gives me an excuse to sit on my butt and read a lot. Sorry.....

I keep track of my sodium too. I was surprised recently by how much sodium in cheese! Thats why my hands and ankles were puffing up. Made the scale go up too. I replaced my cheddar with low sodium mozzarella. This alone made a difference. Check out Costco. Thats where I found it if you like cheese. Good source of protein…

I've found, long ago when I lost a lot of weight, that the body takes its time to adjust. You might lose tomorrow! Plateaus are sometimes long and frustrating. Just keep up what you are doing. Keep exercising and drink lots of water. Be honest about what you are eating. You will lose.

I recently climbed back onto my wagon too. I'd like to stay on for good!!

Watch out for the type of chicken you buy. Check the sodium content. A lot of the "Value Pack" chicken is older chicken and will be tougher than the smaller chicken breasts. A lot of chicken is injected or soaked in sodium as a preservative and to plump up the general appearance. There is a big difference between 40 mg…

Three or four chicken breasts, rinsed and dried. Coat in a little olive oil, lay in a glass baking pan that is sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Over chicken pour a mixture of 1/2 Cup tomato sauce or barbecue sauce, 1/2 Cup pineapple puree, any seasonings you like. Make sure mixture is poured…

If I don't weigh in, with Thanksgiving approaching, I could gain. I need to keep weighing in. Almost every day!

Nothing to worry over unless there is an underlying medical condition. I stay away from refined sugar as much as possible.

My tummy starts growling. That tells me I'm really empty. I feel a little weak and tired. Those two things tell me that its time for some protein.

Ha, ha! What a jerk! You look great, confident and you probably are a lot stronger than you think. Offices are just packed full of jerks, male and female. I've worked with them all. Human beings are the most cruel things on this earth. Be assured that your "rolls" are nothing to worry about. You've come a long way. Don't…

I take about 4 quarts of spring water and bring it to a boil along with two whole chicken breasts, cut up in chunks, one small onion, huge bunch of spinach, celery, carrots, plus anything else that you like: corn, rice. I keep all these ingredients in small amounts. It's the chicken that does the trick. Spice it up with…

I am doing it about three days a month. Ive done this in the past and I feel very energized and I sleep like a log. The various types of liquids I use are: Any kind of clear juice or broth. Lots of water and all of my vitamins. :drinker: Sure helps get rid of fluid retention in my ankles!!

Mmmmm....looks so good! You can make this with a sugar substitute and some low sodium baking soda too! In recipes that call for butter or margarine you can use applesauce instead. I have done this and it still comes out delicious! Thanks for this recipe!:drinker:

I push myself to do 45 minutes twice a day of stretching and strengthening exercises designed specially for my knees. Then I do 50 to 75 situps in the morning and if I feel really motivated I do them again in the afternoon. I have free weights which I pick up every time I sit down to watch a movie. I have an exercise…

Shoving down 4,000 calories a day is so darned easy to do too!!!! I've done much more than that I believe. No more!!
-
I wonder if you could use an exercise bicycle? You don't need to put too much pressure on your feet. Maybe some light free weights. You will eventually heal and get back to doing much more. Don't lose your determination! You sound good.:flowerforyou:

I am working on one pound a week now. I need to slow it down so I don't get discouraged by starving myself. I am eating 1,450 calories but maybe less this week due to a flu. :drinker: There are 52 weeks in a year and if I lose one pound a week I will be so happy!!

Lots of good advice on the internet about avoiding sodium in foods. I am on a very restricted low sodium plan for the rest of my life. My blood pressure is way down now. Try walking as a starter if you are not real excited about exercise. One day at a time!! Jeannie:drinker:

I was putting away around 4,000 at the most. Today I put away 500 due to the flu. I'm finding that 1,450 is just right for losing one pound a week on average. :drinker:

Yes, slow and steady. Keep logging in every day. You will get the support you need from friends you find here to do this.
