  • I agree with you. I've been on MFP since 2010, lost 95 pounds here and then gained most of it back because of some issues happening at home. I came back here for support, and began looking through the forums then, only to find that things had really changed here. I think it depends on where you come from in life. Some…
  • My fiance finds me attractive at any weight I'm at. If this guy really loves you, then he wouldn't make comments like that. To say "ew" in regards to your ambitions is wrong. I can understand everyone has their specific taste in appearances but he could have handled that differently. I would tell him that bothered you and…
  • Glad a select few are responding to that comment. No, not everyone who works hard enough will look like a fitness model. I started at 300 pounds, my goal is 150. I'm already prepared for the loose skin I'm facing in my future. I'm not gonna look like any kind of model - and I'm totally cool with that, because that isn't…
  • I haven't, but Netflix here I come. Also, nice title - really caught my attention. lol
  • For me, eating when I'm depressed/anxious/angry helps... for like a nanosecond. Then all of those feelings come back, plus negative feelings if I binged or ate something unhealthy.
  • Mayonnaise, most dips, and salad dressings. But especially that mayo - it's like I can't make a sandwich without it, and I pretty much love a good sandwich. Went fat free on the other dips and dressings, but mayo is hard to overcome. I've heard people say you can use Greek yogurt but the idea terrifies me.
  • Soda, pork, most meats, dips and some sauces.
  • Might wanna rethink that before he understands what it means.
  • Ugly and "the big one."
  • I feel weird about thinking of a great thing, so I'm going to assume that means I'm humble and use that. LOL
  • I have actually been paying more attention to thin people that I know lately. I've noticed these common things about all of them: - They don't have many sweets or sugary things. In fact, most of the things I love (ice-cream, chocolates, and pastries) they don't care for at all. - They don't eat much, but what they do eat…
  • I don't get why it bothers people so much when things are reposted. It's the internet, my goodness... No, not everyone knows how to use a search engine very well. My grandmother uses websites like this, she's fairly young, and still has a hard time. You don't know how old this person is, their history, or why they can't…
  • I've been morbidly obese ever since I was a little kid (I'm only 22 now). I take all of the responsibility for it, and it's a pretty heavy burden to carry from my viewpoint. Everyone's situation is different, and I do understand how some people could think their obesity is not their fault. Ultimately, this is so personal…
  • I'm a protein bar junkie, though when I have the yummy kind it's when I need a meal replacement. That doesn't happen too often, but when it does I turn to Supreme Protein peanut butter chocolate or caramel nut chocolate. They are ridiculous and I probably enjoy them way too much. I also like Zone Perfect, Luna bars, and I…
  • Name: Hayley Age: 22 Where you live: West Virginia Relationship status: Engaged Kids: None Occupation: Student/Hotel Desk Clerk Fave film: Not a huge film person. I would have to say Cube (awesome horror film that Saw totally ripped off) or Mulan. Totally two different ends of the spectrum there, but I love those movies.…
  • I understand what you're saying. It's very frustrating. I often feel like thin women could never possibly understand the struggles I've faced as a morbidly obese women - but then I take a step back and remember that we're all women and we can relate in that manner.
  • Truth Thursday! Okay, so I've been having issues with food and diary privacy this week. I've had SO much temptation this week and I have to admit I've caved in a few times. This sounds silly, but one of my biggest problems this week has been other people offering me things. I haven't actually gone to seek out any horrible…
  • With my work schedule, I eat at completely and bizarrely different times every single day. I work split shifts (second and third) and then on my days off I try to get up early and enjoy a "normal" day. I've never had any issues with eating before bed. It's not really when you eat, it's how much and what you eat. Also, if…
  • I've had the exact opposite problem here since MFP has given me 1,690 calories. lol. I wouldn't worry about everyone throwing their opinions in rudely. I'm all for giving advice, but there are a lot of very entitled and self fulfilling people in this world, and they will absolutely go out of their way to crap all over your…
  • Work for a cause - not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don't strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt.
  • I'm so happy for you. :) You have truly changed your life and have a very inspirational story to share with everyone else who needs that same change.
  • I have my whole weight loss journey on my profile page, and I've rehashed it a million times, but I definitely relate to your struggles. My highest weight was 304. I was actually around that weight for a couple of years and before that, all through high school and middle school I was morbidly obese. I've never, ever known…
  • I think it's just a personal preference thing. I personally love breakfast and have it every morning because it gives me a good start to my day. On days I don't have it, I feel tired, run down, get stomach pains, etc. I know plenty of people who are (at this point in time, anyway) much healthier than me and they skip…
  • If you feel more comfortable with the gym equipment's reading, go with that. I don't think MFP can be one hundred percent accurate because they don't know your intensity level during the workout. It's an estimate - in other words, when I put 45 minutes in on my spin bike, I have to be as accurate as possible about speed…
  • Heaviest: Um... well, heaviest recorded weight would be 304, but I'm certain I was a bit heavier than that. I use 304 for stats, though. Lightest: When I started losing weight the first time around (before I gained most of it back) I managed to get down to 213. I got to 225 through diet and exercise and went to 213 after…
  • I don't believe it for a second, but I had a friend who told me I look similar to Kelly Clarkson. I've always had people tell me I look like Alexz Johnson from Instant Star.
  • I love plain, ice cold water. Flavored water almost always tastes artificial or odd to me... I dunno, maybe my taste buds are weird but I don't like most flavored waters. I occasionally treat myself to some coconut water, because I think it tastes very natural and yummy. Nothing beats the purity and cleansing feeling of…
  • I still have over one hundred pounds to lose to reach my goal. Feel free to add me. :)
