Have you been fitted for proper shoes? I've learned that not all shoes are created equal and that I tend over-pronate and require a shoe that compensates for that to prevent pain. I found The Running Room very helpful and knowledgeable and now I know what to look for in shoes when its time for replacement. Just a thought :)

Wow. Thats just awful. My heart sank while reading your story. Good for you for keeping on, I can't say I would've done the same. Congrats on what you've done so far!

I love Couch to 5k! Its a great program! I am working on my first half as well, but I'm skipping the 10k and just going for it. I'm using a beginners training program for distances and following the Running Room 10 and 1 method. I did my 2nd 4-mile run yesterday and it felt great. My half is in May :)

Yep, I log everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. Why not do it? If you're here for change then there is no point not logging. If you want to change then you gotta be consistent!

Bump to save for later. Thanks for this, sounds amazing!

I worked at a bank previously and one customer couldn't be bothered to remember my name. he had already alienated the entire staff so I was the only one who got the pleasure of dealing with him. He came in and asked the front desk, "where is that fat girl with blond hair?". The girl at the front desk thought it was…

Hi! This is super inspiring to me. You started off about where I was this time last year. I'm getting married in 2014 and am struggling to lose the last 30 pounds. I've only dropped 20 pounds in the last year and though I log everything my exercise has been slack. Thanks for sharing your success! You're going to make a…

Day 350 for me, feel free to add. I'm a good comment-er and supporter but I do expect the same in return. After supporting someone for a while with no reciprocation they get deleted to make room for people who are supportive too. Any one can add me who fits the above!

Exactly why I'm here.

Ditto. Except substitute "province of Nova Scotia" for state of Wisconsin.

Don't get it, don't like it. Never will. I'm not a kid or baby person... They stress me out, even the kids of family. However, I LOVE when people bring their dogs in, it only happens once a year but its my favourite day!

I'm 5'4" so I'll play :) CW - 169.4, wear a size 10 right now Bust - 42" Waist - 32" Hips - 42" GW - 130-140, depending on BF% which is my real concern.

You're my hero. You look amazing and my have a greater love for diet coke than I do!

I started at 190, I'm at 169.6 currently with a goal weight of 140, which should put me somewhere near an ideal body fat range. The weight will be a bonus but the body fat percentage is really what I'm going for. I've lost 12 lbs of fat and gained 5 pounds of muscle over the past few months, its slow going but worth it!

:flowerforyou: I lol'd.
