This. I'm 5'4" and 170 lbs and eat 1700ish a day. I'm also doing New Rules of LIfting and don't eat back my exercise calories. Check out In Place of a Road Map on the forums, or the group. Lots of good advice there.

Salad! Cook it and chill it, add some spinach if you're so inclined or romaine lettuce. I'd add in red onion, chickpeas (drained, rinsed and pat dry), cucumber, chicken breast or tuna, tomato, green peppers and season with salt, pepper, lemon juice and olive oil. Toss and enjoy.

Agreed. I was using the machines and could do 45lbs on the chest press and 25lbs on the shoulder press and with free weights, I'm doing 20 and 17.5 lbs, respectively. They're very different. Its log-in day 309 for me, my diary is open so feel free to add. I have 30 lbs to go to my first goal weight and I lose slowly (so I can still live my life and I do NROL4W) so I'll be here for a while :) 29, 5'4", CW 170, GW 140 which should bring me to the ideal BF range :)

I log everything. No matter what. Even if I have to go back and do it the next day, I will log it. 1000 calories over? Logged. People who lie or underestimate are only hurting themselves and their progress...

Ruffles Sour Cream and Onion chips. I don't buy them, or I get little mini packs because I can control myself with those. Also, cheddar and jalapeno brown rice chips.

Search in the forums for In Place of a Road Map and there are some calculators listed there that you may find better to calculate TDEE, BMR, etc... I have found MFP estimations low as well and am losing on 1700+ calories when MFP put me at 1200.
