  • My everyday breakfast is an omlette of 2 eggs, 4 whites, 2 slices of Oscar Mayer precooked bacon (45 calories) and 1 ounce of cheese. Some day I add toast or another carb source.
  • It's just something I do now. I have a great fitness plan and I follow it. Besides I love being 180 pounds with 10% body fat compared to the 246 I weighed in November of '09. Tim
  • I use it 6 days a week. Enjoy the energy boost. I have it either as a snack, just one scopp and water/ice or as a meal replacement with a banana, powdered peanut butter and almond milk.

  • All the calories from wine come from alcohol. There are only trace amounts of protein and fat.
  • I just saw this topic covered on the PBS show "America's Test Kitchen". If left uncovered, roughly 90-95% of the alcohol cooks out, but left covered, in a slow cooker, only 60% or so gets cooked out. Tim

  • Count all sugars. Just because it comes from an apple it is still sugar. Fructose, which is the sugar in fruit, goes directly to your liver. The liver can store about 100g of fructose. Excess fructose is then converted to triglycerides. Not a goood thing, Glucose, on the other hand by passes the liver and goes directly to…
  • I took pics the first day I started P90X, then took them every 30 days. I take them every thirty days still and I'm into round 5.
  • IT's not the calories that are bad, but the alcohol itself. It essentially a poison that your body needs to metabolize. In the meantime the other calories you've injested get stored. A drink once a week won't derail you but three a night is completely counter productive to weight loss.
  • The current science , from multiple sources, says you need carbs after a workouts as that gets absorbed into your muscle much faster than protein. The ideal ratio of protein and carbs after a workout is 4:1. Protein usually comes about an hour or so later.
  • I wouldn't rely on the HR monitor for resistance workouts. Weight lifting burns calories differently than cardio workouts.
  • Good Job! Yoga X isn't about a calorie burn. IT's really more about giving your body some active rest after the last three brutal days. You're upper body has been blasted by two days of resistance training and then your legs get hammered by Plyo so that endless stretch up upward dog and warrior poses helps stretch all…

  • P90X rocks! Totaly transformed my 42 year old body. In Round 5 right now!
  • Last night I did my standard Tuesday P90X workout the only difference was that it was in the high 80' s rather than the 50's like last week. According to my heart rate monitor the calories burned were marginally different despite sweating tons more last night.
  • 1) I hope you're doing the classic version and not messing with the Lean version 2) Just keep going. Don't let one day decide your fate! Didn't you hear the guys inthe video say that first month was "UGLY!" ? 3) The good news is you will forget about your upper body soreness after doing Plyo X. Your legs and glutes will be…
  • In general, women should not worry about getting bulky. They lack the chemistry to build substantial muscle. The femal body builders do that with years of dedicated heavy lifting and some additional chemical help. If you do the P90X classic version as the program was designed you'll definitley tone your muscles and burn…

  • I plan the day out in advance so I know I'll hit my calories and ratios as close as possible by the end of the day. I typically eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day so not sure I really need to do that anymore but that's the routine I got into when I started and I'm sticking with it.
  • Potato Croquettes v. Tater Tots Potato Croquettes win, much cooler name! Tim
  • Honestly, increase your carbs not your protein when you need energy. Why do you think marathon runners eat high carb meals the night before? It gives them tons of energy.

  • That's why I don't drink any calories with 2 exceptions: 1) Post workout recovery drink - 220 calories 2) Protein powder mixed with unsweetened Almond Breeze, 194 calories per serving No juice, no milk, no regular soda, no alcohol. But that's me.
  • I'm in the middle of my 5th round so here's my advice. First off, Do the Classic program. Don't mess with the LEAN. The best results will be from the Classic program by far. The Lean program was a complete after thought. P90X was designed to be done as planned in the Classic program. Follow that and you'll get awesome…
  • I took pictures day 1, day 30, day 60, and day 90, When you look at the side by side you can see a difference. I guess it all depends on what type of shape you are in to begin with. I was 214, no muscle tone what so ever. After two rounds, 180 days, I was down to 182 with visible abs. A 4 pack no 6 pack. Just keep going,…
  • I know nothing about Jillian's 30 Day shred, but I do know this about Insanity, If you aren't in good enough shape to make it through the warmup you shouldn't do it. You'll spend too much time resting and catching your breath. Unlike P90X where you can modify the resistance workouts or some of the moves in the cardio…
  • Used this site to help me lean out. Then spent the winter adding mass so it was great to help me hit 3,000-3,500 calories a day. Put on about 15 pounds but have gotten back down to my starting weight and definitely can see the difference in added muscle. Now using it to drop that last 5 to hopefully get me to single digit…
  • Don't add all 500 at once. Add over time and see how your body reacts/adapts. Maybe you'll find that 300 extra is what works.
  • Shakeology is really much more than a protein shake so simply switching from that just a protein supplement is not quite the same. The chocolate does take a bit to get used to with just water. I typically drink it with unsweetened vanilla almond breeze, add extra ice and it's pretty good. I usually do the three day cleanse…
  • One can certainly exercise too much in that you never give your body a chance to rest and recover. It's that rest period where you see the changes like muscle growth for instance. In your case, I wouldn't say what you're doing is excesive in any way.
  • I agree. Everyone in my family eats the same thing for dinner. I have coworkers that complain about their kids being picky, Mine have no choice. We don't hear any complaining about asparagus, brussels sprouts or brocolli from our 7 and 9 year old since they know we aren't making anything else. What's the point of making…
  • This might be one of the perfect cases to show the limitations of BMI. BMI does not tell you anything abuot body composition. It could be that while you are at a "mormal" weight for your height, you might have a high body fat % which might explain your boyfriend's description of your middle. Don't think about it as having…
  • My wife did the 6 week program, but struggled with the nutrition part. She still lost about ten pounds. The workouts made her sweat, which she doesn't like to do for some reason.
