Drinking longnecks this weekend in honor of this post.

Just wanted to say MFP has allowed me to understand what my friends mean when they tell me "You think too much". Carry on.

Vitamix or bust. :D

I went with a taco salad. Lot of work not to eat a serving afterward. Can't wait to try it out for lunch tomorrow.

Recently while getting winter clothes out of storage I ran across a pair of Old Navy gym shorts I could not immediately recognize. After some thought I identified them as a pair I had bought while working out of town to answer a basketball challenge from a coworker. They were a little small then so they were never worn…

Have recently taken a liking to frying up Tuna Patties over tuna salads.

Hillbilly deluxe meal. 1000+ calorie meal in the workshop. Complete with toothpick for the hollow back teeth and a dog in case I drop something. :D

You originally stated "...all your FitBit is doing is counting steps". I pointed out most Fitbit models do more than count steps. They also apply an algorithm to allow for differing levels of effort. You then stated "Not relevant at walking pace, HR is too low to be a meaningful indicator." I pointed out that at least in…

Dang I thought it was chicken killing dinner run. :*

I very much disagree. According to the Fitbit graphs my calorie burn may vary from as little a 3.5cals/min at the onset to as much as 14cals/min during a hilly or hurried portion of a walk.

♫...don't you eat that yellow snow.♫

I believe some Fitbit models factor heart rate into the calorie calculations. Therefor running calories would be higher than walking calories for instance. YMMV on accuracy.

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome all new Santa enabled fitbitters. ;) May you all enjoy and benefit from them as much as I have mine. Just last night I was spurred by a Fitbit challenge and MFP's own Christy K. to get up and walk/jog in place for forty minutes while watching the nobody cares bowl on the tube.…

Charge HR here. It has been a boon for me. Have found the quick access to stats more motivating than I would have thought. Gotta go. Need to get my 250 steps in for the hour. B)

Today marked my 100th consecutive day to login to MFP. In those 100 days the monthly average of the health stats I now record into an Excel spreadsheet each morning have improved thusly: Systolic Blood Pressure - Down 10.4 mm Hg Diastolic Blood Pressure - Down 10.1 mm Hg Pulse - Down 3.7 BPM Fasting Blood Glucose Level -…

I log food on MFP and let the Fitbit device autolog calorie burn to the Fitbit app. I don't yet do any significant non-step based exercises but in the future when I start to put more emphasis on muscle retention I will log them manually.

Three over medium, ham, tomato, toast and coffee.

Rock On!

That's why the 10,000 step goal has not been much of a problem for me. My beer fridge is in the basement. :p

Good time for this thread to pop to the top. I tried PB2 for the first time just a few days ago and this thread inspired me to mix some with jam and spread on toast. Not the decadent pb&j of my past but a reasonable facsimile thereof. ;) Reminds me of the flavor of Smuckers Goober Grape PB&J Stripes At 130 calories it has…

What a hairy proposition. I'm in.

How many steps to walk that off? :o

Doing just fine weighing myself daily, thank you very much.

I stopped drinking pop well before deciding to lose weight. At the time I was drinking six to ten cans of Pepsi each day. It helped me to change my frame of reference. That is instead of thinking of them as a refreshing beverage I looked at them in terms of sugar content. It broke down as follows; 41 grams of sugar per…

Diggin' on the leftovers tonight. Turkey salad, tex-mex rice n beans, tater, maters and cuke. Best thing is the only dishes were a knife and a fork. B)

I log my weight, blood pressure, glucose level and temperature into an excel spreadsheet each morning. I have the sheet setup to keep a monthly average of each stat and graph the weight with a trend line on a separate sheet. After a 31 pound loss my systolic pressure is down 10 points, diastolic is down 6, glucose is down…

I ran this year's leftover turkey through a food processor until crumbled and added it into this Tex-Mex rice with kidney beans recipe. Also added a little cinnamon, a can of Rotel and frozen corn. Turned out great.

As a country boy the concept of "walking the dog" seems a little strange. ;) My furry buddy has her own door and is free to walk herself at any time but she does stay within fifty feet or so of me when I venture about the property and I often take her along when visiting dog friendly locations. Sassy the pup. Sass the dog.
