I've stumbled on Yogurt salad dressing which tastes unbelievable. I generally always look at sodium due for blood pressure reasons. Other than that, I don't look for anything "light" today than I did before I was more conscious of calorie intake.

I also work from home. I'm someone who can not stand the thought of going to a gym. It's all personal pref though. To me, the time it takes to get ready to go - commute - hope to get on the equipment you want at your call - pack it up and commute home - takes way longer than it would be do simply do what I want to do at…

For the moment, I simply take up a small corner of a bedroom so not too much excitement with any pics to offer. A treadmill, stability ball and sticky mat are the "gear". A small TV mounted to the wall in front of the treadmill and an MP3 player with earbuds always close by.

Sorry... I'm a guy and I find that creepy....

I'm strongly considering the Sole E35. Seems to be a great "bang for the buck". I have a Treadmill and it's awesome. It's all personal preference, but I simply refuse to go to any gym.

Good luck! Feel free to add me if you'd like.

I agree - MFP estimates high. I go with my Treadmill and even drop that read by 10 as a "buffer". I do enter my weight / age on the treadmill I have though. Not sure if that matters or not. Lastly, I'm not into the idea of wearing a fit band of any brand so I'm going with it. So far it's working so I'm not changing the…

I love my treadmill and couldn't be without. It's the Sole F80. It has pre-programmed routines, incline, and speed control which I assume most have but don't know for sure. You can put in your own age and weight, etc.... and also has a HRM. It has a safety mechanism where the deck drops slowly so I don't need to worry…

This may be the best post I've ever read on any forum! Amazing!!!!!

I'm not sure what you define as a ton of money. But, I don't and won't go to a gym... Period! So, what I have is a Sole F80 Treadmill, a sticky mat and a Stability/Fitness ball. There's SO much that can be done with these it'd ridiculous. A couple DVD's will get you going on the Ball with enough to keep you busy for years…

Congratulations! Amazing inspiration....

Never thought I'd say this, but I've stopped altogether for now. The same 9 bottles have been sitting in my fridge for 3 weeks. Amazingly though, I don't crave them like I used to. Used to have 1 - 2 each night (for years) - which explains the reason why I'm here to begin with.

Your situation is similar to mine... PM Sent. Anyone who would wish to, can do the same.

Not much left to add after all these great responses. This place is highly motivating! Everyone here is on your side... Add me for a friend if you wish.

Get a Crockpot!!! They are cheap and so many things you can cook in it. Easy way to make enough for 4-5 meals each week. I don't think hot meal options can get simpler to make.

C25K is a really good routine - especially if one of your focuses is running. The other thing to consider if you're running is to ensure your entire footwear package is best for you. Socks, sneakers and any recommended inserts. It may cost a little up front, but your routine will be sustainable long term with less risk of…

Congrats for taking that step! I also sit at a desk for work and know very well how middle age makes it's impact. Friend request on the way....

Timely post for me since I've been wondering the same. I used a pedometer for a long while and that was sort of helpful, but that was years ago.

I've spent years working from home so I can relate.

I have pretty much been a beer or two a day person for the last 7 years. To state the obvious - this has added to the waist line. I don't drink enough to even get "buzzed". I get full before that happens. But I'm drinking beer - not J.D, so the amount required is much different in my opinion. I won't give it up but I will…

I'll be the first one to reply. First of all, I've had a ball for years and even when not into an exercising regime, I used it for stretching my back. Anyways - yes - I use the ball for abs and stretching. Ton or resources for ideas when I looked on YT as well.. But when I "actually did it" seriously - here's what I used.…

Thank you! Comforting to know someone else has been in a similar situation and has resolved it with walking it off. Thank you!
