  • I'm currently using Alchemi 5150, the green apple flavor. It looks absolutely horrid, but tastes ok. It gets me feeling kinda pumped up to workout without feeling like my heart is racing and about to explode.
  • I personally wouldn't log it and would just consider it a little extra burn for the day.
  • Blue Diamond makes these dry roasted flavored almonds...seriously amazing! I love the blueberry, strawberry, and raspberry ones.
  • Egg white omelette with bacon bits and a colby cheese slice, a Nature's Valley crunchy granola bar, plus some strawberries, grapes, and a peach dipped in some Greek yogurt mixed with vanilla protein powder and cinnamon :) I wasn't able to finish all the fruit, so I had the rest of it for a snack after work.
  • I have a hard time cutting it open too. You just have to use a really sharp knife (my chef's knife works best) and kinda manhandle it lol. I've also found that you can cut the stem part off first and start cutting it in half from that end. That made it a little easier on me when I had a really large squash.
  • I'm not a huge artichoke fan, but I absolutely love spaghetti squash and am always looking for new ways to try it. I think I'm going to leave out the artichokes and add in some grilled chicken on top. Thanks!
  • The vanilla flavored whey that I use is very sweet. I usually mix it with plain nonfat Greek yogurt (1/2-3/4 scoop of protein with 1/2-3/4 cup yogurt) add a little cinnamon and dip fruit into it. It's still pretty sweet, but it makes a really tasty fruit dip. I just had it with some strawberries and grapes. I also use it…
  • So many yummy ideas I'm not sure where to start!!!! Thanks for the recipes and links :)
  • One of my all time favorites and go to salad is a strawberry spinach salad: 3 cups baby spinach 1/2 cup halved strawberries 2 T blue cheese crumbles (or feta is good too) 2 T chopped walnuts or pecans 3-4 oz. cooked chicken optional: crumbled up bacon or bacon bits strawberry poppyseed dressing
  • Ditto this. Look into doing heavy (for you) squats and throw in some heavy deadlifts as well. They work and will do so much more than just doing body weight squats, plus you can do like 3 sets of 8 (total of 24 reps) instead of doing 250. I've worked out doing body weight squats and also doing weighted squats. Weighted…
  • You look fantastic! Great job :) Good luck on your future half! :flowerforyou:
  • I plan out weekly meals (dinners for the boyfriend and myself, plus work lunches for myself) then make a list specific to that week, but weekly staples that I must have are: strawberries apples peaches bananas baby spinach hearts of romaine sweet potatoes milk eggs Greek yogurt- usually a big tub of plain or vanilla, plus…
  • I used one of those things a few years ago...it was free so I just figured why not. Plus I was young(er) and dumb lol. I didn't lose any weight, but the cellulite on the back of my legs disappeared for a few hours. IMO it's not a solution for weight loss at all, neither a short term nor long term. I don't see it being a…
  • Why not make your own rice? I make vegetable fried rice with brown rice, frozen peas and carrots, scrambled egg whites, some soy sauce, and a little bit of sesame oil. You could easily add in some pork or chicken. I usually serve this with some pan seared chicken and orange sauce.
  • I'm guessing that you'd see a difference if someone was eating 100% clean versus 100% junk since the people not eating "clean" (I hate that term btw) would be missing out on essential vitamins and minerals. Thing is that people very rarely eat at a very low calorie goal (1200-1400) while eating only junk, meaning they're…
  • So what about Greek yogurt, milk, eggs, bread, or other fruits? Those are all staples for me and I'd go nuts without them lol. I also live in Texas and spend about $80-$100/ week for me and my boyfriend, but this also includes basic toiletries, cleaning supplies, and random household things like dryer sheets and paper…
  • Lol I listen to 80s-90s country all the time, including when I workout. Right now it's a lot of Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, George Strait, Billy Ray Cyrus (total guilty pleasure lmao), Randy Travis, and Alan Jackson, plus a couple Keith Whitley songs for good measure
  • Some of my favorites: Greek yogurt- either the fruit flavored ones or regular vanilla with fresh/ frozen fruit and granola, beef jerky with a cheese stick, cottage cheese, edamame, dry roasted almonds (cocoa, raspberry, and blueberry flavored ones are my favorites), I also make protein powder muffins, pancakes, and waffles
  • I personally use Optimum Nutrition or Dymatize, but just the whey protein, not a meal replacement one. Meaning each scoop of powder is about 100-120 calories and around 25 grams of protein and not much else. Check out bodybuilding.com. You can research and compare different brands, types of powders, flavors, and all that,…
  • I would think that if you're already at your weight goal then you should switch to eating maintenance calories (TDEE and not eating exercise calories back) and lifting heavy. Look into Starting Strength and New Rules of Lifting for Women for help with the lifting part. A good calculator to figure out your TDEE is the…
  • I like Tyson precooked chicken breast strips. They are a little bland, but I just use them for salads so I don't notice it. John Soules is also really good. They had rotisserie and fajita style chicken that's really good and flavorful, just a bit more expensive than Tyson.
  • Why do you have to eat 5 meals that all have the exact same amount of calories? Just stick to your daily goal and eat when you're hungry. I typically have a light breakfast, good sized lunch, and dinner, plus anywhere from 2-5 snacks, all of various calories.
  • I go to LA Fitness and I got a free session when I joined. Not like the guy actually helped me- I told him I just wanted some help checking my form on a few lifts and instead of lifting weight we do bodyweight crap. Anyway, I see people helping each other there all the time, and they're always announcing that if you have…
  • It's different for everybody, but for me I always weigh at least 2-3 pounds more the day (sometimes 2) after I lift. If you're lifting heavy and/ or pretty new to lifting then you're most likely retaining some water weight.
  • I recently bought a Belgian waffle maker and I've made protein waffles 3 times in the past 3 days lol.
  • Never tried front squats before but I've been a bit curious. I'll swap those and try them out. Thanks!
  • Ok, so my warm up sets are fine then? That seems to be the general consensus since no one has said I'm doing anything wrong. I want to get stronger so I'll be switching my runs to non-lifting days only. As for the knee extensions, I've heard negative reviews before, but back in middle school I had knee issues and my doctor…
  • So is how I did it a pretty good warm up? I noticed that I'm not as sore the next couple of days, even though I lifted more weight and more reps. Should it take about 15-20 minutes? Or is this all personal preference? I was trying to run 1 mile after lifting, but have found that I'm generally too tired, so I'll try running…
