  • Eat a good on plan meal before you go and bring something to share with everyone that you can eat guilt free. Make it tasty and "safe". You may even help them see that healthy food can be good too. If you eat a big meal before the movie you won't need popcorn. If they ask, tell them you are full now, but will have a…

  • Everyone eats break fast, some people just don't eat it until 9 a.m or 12 p.m. etc. There is no reason to eat first thing in the morning if your body doesn't tolerate it well. But, as hte others have said you have to make sure you eat enough over all calories, if you don't that will cause problems with your metabolism.
  • I think a gut healing protocol like GAPS or the Specific Carbohydrate diet may be a good idea for you to start with, then work on re-introducing the other foods.
  • http://www.cheflisiparsons.com/cauliflower-pizza-poppers/ I'm making these.
  • How are you doing? Any questions?
  • It could be any number of things. If weighing everyday makes you get upset about small fluctuations, then you should stop. If you can do it without sterssing, then it is up to you if you should keep it up. I tend to weigh everyday, but only Thursday "counts". I tend to see a loss each Thursday, even if there is a higher…
  • Although, I should add that currently I am using some "products". I was struggling to get myself back to eating well after the holidays and I have a fitness test (military) so it was super important for me to buckle down. I tend to be really good about eating right and staying on track if I spent a lot of money in the…
  • I don't have my diary open to everyone, but we can be "friends". I try to stay at about 1500 calories a day, sometimes more.
  • Leave them alone, unless he asks don't bring them up. Offer them to other people. If he asks if you liked them or why you didn't eat any, just tell him either you are on a diet (although sometimes people don't care and will say "oh just try one, you can eat just one.") or let him know that you are doing an elimination diet…
  • Sautee onions and garlic, brown the meat then toss in chopped tomato and any other veggies you like. Add a few scrambled eggs and any spices you like as well as salt and pepper. It doesn't look pretty, but it generally tastes awesome. We call it "slop" and my kids LOVE it.
  • Some people with thyroid issues have digestion problems, including low digestive enzymes and HCL. This can contribute to the body not being able to produce HDL. Are you doing anything to support healthy digestion? Maybe including taking a digestive enzyme?

  • I make my own jerky, but I also don't sweat a little bit of sugar as long as the other ingredients are clean. Everybody is different though in what they think is acceptable.
  • oh definitely beef jerky. When I first started I cooked a pound of bacon and ate it myself every other day...lol
  • celery with almond butter almonds lettuce wrap with mashed avocado and meat, sprinkled with garlic powder meat sliced peppers avocado with garlic and lime juice tuna in a half of a pepper hard boiled eggs "clean" deviled eggs berries with coconut milk (I like to add cinnamon)

  • I agree that blending them, alone or with something else can change the texture. Then use it as a condiment, I love it smoothed out and added in place of mayo on a lettuce wrap with chicken and garlic (I use the McCormicks garlic and pepper grinder.)
  • salsa Here are some tasty looking recipes. http://www.elanaspantry.com/gluten-free-recipes/salads/

  • I have been paleo since Aug 2009 and have NEVER done crossfit. Walking is fine for exercise, especially if you are starting out.

  • We shop mainly at the Commissary, which limits our options a bit. We just moved here in September, so the money for buying better qulaity meats was just not avilable. We have scoped out the local farms and plan to order bulk meat once we get our tax money back. In AK we had a reat butcher that charged reasonable prices for…
  • Welcome! The group has been kinda slow, but if yuop have questions, psot them to help get things rolling!
  • I agree, real breakfast not bullet proof coffee. I think the BPC is good for people that IF or are keto, but not for the general population.
  • Welcome! I've been eating this way for a few years now, with a few times getting away from it and regretting it.
  • If you increased your carbs during that period then it may not have been fat gain, but instead your glycogen stores rebuilding. Which would then come off relatively quickly too once you went back to low carb. If you wanted/needed to increase your carbs in the future you will probably have an initial gain, then plateu and…
  • Just eat real food. Eat lots of veggies, some fruits, some nuts and plenty of protein from animal sources. Avoid "paleo" baked goods and treats.
  • My kids like this and I used to make it, but very rarely bother these days. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread23434.html Each person is very different and you'll have to find what works best for you. SInc children need more starches to help them develop properly and I need some to maintain my thyroid function, we…
  • I haven't read Practical Paleo. But, I did tackle "Good Calories, Bad Calories" so maybe that is why I like "The Paleo Solution"
  • The Primal Blueprint is a good choice as is "The Paleo Solution". Some people prefer more guidance, like a recipe book. I really like "Everyday Paleo". If they are the type of people that like motivational stories, then I would suggest, "The Paleo Miracle"
