Well, after posting the above I went back to square one. Got out all my post-op literature read and re-read all the instructions/tips. Got back to Tracking here on MFP, limiting myself to the 1200 cal my physician recommended and drinking protein supplement. Now I'm down 5 lbs. and am working to get those other 5 off. I…

I am 3 years out and have recently gained 10 lbs. Not a happy camper as I lost 83 lbs. and maintained up until March of this year. I seem to be hungry a lot and have started snacking on less than healthy items. I wonder if the pouch test will help but I am not sure what it is. Can someone explain?

2nd thoughts, yes. Regrets NO! I was mostly scared of the surgery/complications, recovery and following the post-op plan. It has been rough adjusting but I am reaping the benefits of my weight-loss tool. From here on out it's learning a new lifestyle and enjoying the journey. My hubby has his appt. with the surgeon next…

I also have to go with shopping on the regular side of the store! It felt a little awkward at first as I wasn't sure what size to select and I was afraid someone would send me back to the plus sized side. But now I have fun with it trying on clothes just to see if they fit, I don't always buy :)

My Nut recommended the Celabrate bariatric vitamins and calcium. I tried the chewable tabs but they are too powdery. I like the orange multivit and caramel calcium chewables. Funny story, I left the packages setting on the counter one day and came back to find my hubby nibbling on my new "candy" :)

Thanks all.

Yes! I know there is no way I could be hungry but it starts gurgling. The other annoying "side effect" are the hiccups.

Awesome! Keep it up!

Thanks, this all makes sense! I probably need to readjust my perspective and will keep measuring. The past few months exercise has been walking but I am starting to use hand weights for my arms and have a couple DVDs for workouts at home. Thanks again for the encouragement!

Congratulations on your accomplishment! You look great and I am sure you feel wonderful!

Rpyle111 - Congrats on the BMI "no longer obese", whoo-hoo! I remember the first time seeing my Dr. writing the diagnoses obese in my chart, my heart sank.

Since my size 20W pants were sliding off I decided it was time to buy a couple of replacement pairs. I thought well lets try the 18W, still too big. I tried the 16W which fit OK but still a little baggy. I went over to the "regular" side of the store and grabbed a pair of 16s and they fit! First time in a long time I've…

Marta, I get what you are saying. After 3 months I am still careful or maybe nervous of dry, dense foods like grilled meats or raw vegetables. I don't get heart burn but that tight uncomfortable feeling is not something I like to repeat! My nut advised chewing foods thoroughly, about 27 chews per bite. This provides…

I carried a 32 oz. sports bottle of water with me but it was still a challenge. My dietician also told me to be sure to count soup/broth, popsicles, protein shakes and jello. I like the Crystal light pink and regular lemonade which helps provide a change from the taste of plain water. I noticed now I am able to take in…

I am nearly 2 months out. At first I did not feel hungry or thirsty. I do feel hunger now but it is only around meal time and am satisfied after a few bites which holds me while after my meal. I also have to remind myself to drink the protein shakes. Before surgery I guess I had head hunger because nothing seemed to…

Hmm, that's a thought. We celebrate our 40th next year maybe my hubby will bite on that. :D

I thought about that too. As I gained I had them enlarged then gained more and couldn't wear them. Maybe I should have kept them their original size.

Way to go Jan! You look great!

Hang in there the weight will come off postop! Keep following your diet as prescribed and you will lose. My bariatric nurse explained when you stall it is because your brain perceives the decrease intake as starvation and goes into conserve mode. It can be frustrating but once your body adjusts you will continue to lose…

Try unsweetened apple sauce or sugar-free pudding. It will help disguise the taste and will go down easier.

You look wonderful! Thanks for sharing it is an inspiration to all of us. Congratulations on reaching your goal.
