Canned beans aren't listed on this site, however I use it occasionally to find equivalents in different measures. http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/cooking/

I love that you're losing weight just because you can! Enjoy the new you. :)

When I enter recipes in MFP, I often just enter them as 1 serving and then get a total weight of the entire batch. Then I do the math to see how much of that 'one' serving I had. For instance if I made 620 grams of coleslaw and then took 68 grams to go with my meal, I enter 0.11 serving for my portion <68/620>. You can do…

You've lost nearly 12% of your body weight--that is fabulous!

Check out this thread. It goes back a couple of years, but there are new entries also. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/743399/5-52-girls-i-want-to-hear-your-story-and-pics/p1 Btw, I am 5' tall and down 12 pounds since September 7. At 128 now going to 120, but I'm pretty sure I will need to go lighter once I…

Don't forget the Mongolian grill if they have one. You can get a plate full of protein and veggies to start off with, wait a little bit and then go for your favorite things from the buffet for your treat.

Thanks to all who bumped up this thread! I hope to post here in a few months!

There are several entries for Bicycling under cardio exercises--all the way from under 10 mph to over 20 mph. Enter based on time and average mph I would think.

Brie!!! I gotta treat myself soon!

I'm short (5'0.5") so the first five pounds lost got me into smaller jeans and totally motivated me!

Men are often @sses. I say that from the experience of someone who has kept the same one for 35 years. I love him, but still...<eyeroll>.

Hi! I'm surprised you haven't had a bunch of responses telling you that you'll starve your body and mess up your metabolism and such. What I've read does not support any of that. I only have 20~30 pounds to lose and when I asked my doc about going under 1000 calories a day, he had no problem at all. He suggested an…

Exercise calories?

The only thing I noticed in your diary is a couple of apparently incomplete days. It is possible that you ate enough on those days to wipe out your deficit. If you don't think you did, then the only choice is to cut calories a bit more. I feel like you should have seen at least a pound or two drop by now if those numbers…

My husband is 5'9" and at age 18 he weighed about 135 or so. Totally fit from long summer days of farm work--pitching hay, cutting tobacco etc and had the tightest butt ever from miles and miles on an actual bicycle. Yep. I married that. We recently celebrated 35 years.

Lord yes! Saturday mornings are nothing special now and darn near every animated cartoon stinks these days. Love the Bugs!

I would try to be under for the next several days until I made up for the over calories day. Especially if you are working on less than 2 pounds a week loss. A couple of over days can wipe out your deficit for the week.

Two teaspoons (or 6 packets, I think) of Sweet N Low equal 1/4 cup granulated sugar. I buy the bulk and I use it pretty much anywhere I would add regular sugar. Tea, sweet potatoes, sweeten a salad dressing or coleslaw, cereal, etc. I don't bake however, and I think there are special guidelines to use then. Their website…

You probably need to frustrate your sweet tooth. You're having chocolate every day, sometimes several times a day. Try to do with out any for several days and just re-introduce it as a special occasional treat a couple of times a week. Listen to your hunger and eat a few more hundred calories...just lay off the sweets.…

I can't be the only person who doesn't put stuff in or on oatmeal. I like it plain, made with water and a little salt. Maybe butter, maybe not.

Are the homemade entries in your diary your own creations? You must be cautious to use good entries from the database. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide
-
Truth. ...and it works both ways. If you honestly log all your food and aren't losing at the expected rate, you will be properly armed with correct information when you complain to your doctor!

Fabulous! PS: Wear that lovely hair down as much as possible; it looks great!

From what I've read in the forums, it seems that most of the folks who eat back their exercise calories only eat back about half of them. Whether they are using the MFP estimates or other sources, I can't say. Many say to simply set your activity level correctly rather than sedentary and ignore exercise calories. You can…

It is in the drop down menu on the reports. At least it is on the website. I have no clue about the app.

Yes, it is doing you good. Doesn't matter that you're not burning loads of calories yet, you're still doing a good thing for your heart. You might look at some intensity information...I have only read a little bit about it, but you work as hard as you can for 20 seconds or so and then ease back for 40, hard again for 20,…

@cblue That's funny about the chicken. When my guts are mis-behaving, I can't eat chicken in any form without trotting--a lot! All other times, I'm fine with it. Go figure.

I was dx'd with Crohn's in 1989 and had shown symptoms at least 5 years previous. Like the others said, your 'bad' food list will be specific to you and some things you can tolerate when you're not in a flare will send you running when you are. Over the years I had little to no response from drug treatments and after 6…

I recently bought a whey isolate protein powder at Walmart--a bit over 20 bucks for a huge 2 pound container. You can mix it in anything--water, milk, yogurt, whatever. 130 calories for 30 mg of protein. You can adjust how much you use according to what you need. The one I bought is Body Fortress Whey Isolate in Vanilla…

I'm 5' plus a fraction and I have to go under 1000 to lose--I have medical approval--but I'm also much older than you and have some other medical issues. It's entirely possible that you have a low caloric need as well. I have to weigh food to get as an accurate count as possible although nothing is absolutely correct of…
