Breaking old habits is hard. The first time I got serious bout losing lbs was after my 3rd. Baby. I went all out, I worked with my Doc and she introduced me to a nutritionist, and a personal trainer. But before I started with any plan she first asked me to keep a food and exercise diary. Keeping track of your food helps…

Welcome aboard. I have found MFP to be really helpful & the people to be super friendly and supportive.

Hey Chika- I have a kindle as well and the first thing I did was look up the classics, i.e. Moby ****, Pride and Prejudice, anything by Emily ****enson. They are free! Also there is a blogger who posts free books everyday, look up free kindle books, he lists contemporary authors if you don't care for the classics.

I resemble those comments and I totally understand yet my doctor didn't want to introduce a diet suppressant for me. I worked out about 5 days a week and hr each time. All that has changed and I'm currently dealing with losing again. With food and exercise in focus I was able to maintain a healthy weight for a few years.…

The one thing that helps me is knowing each moment is a new opportunity to do something different, different from eating & sleeping. Also, if I think too much about the effort & time it takes to go workout or take a walk I usually can talk myself out of doing it. Get dressed, plan to do something you enjoy, walking, a…

Checking in wk 4: CW: 136 Total weight lost since start: 3lbs. Question of thee week: favorite move for sculpting hot legs and bum- steps ups and when I'm really feeling strong I have been known to jump (both feet) onto platform about 20 inches above ground. Running stairs too. My workout schedule this week is to get to…

She's definitely in the top five for me too.

Exercising at home is huge for me. It saves loads of time. My go to exercise is my stationary bike, I usually watch a action movie or try to read, but that only works the legs. Next I turn on exercise TV, comcast has a good list. Lots to choose from: yoga, pilates, aerobics, ones called 10 pound slim down. This has about 5…

I love your quote on your ticker. I hope you don't mind if I start using it as my mantra.

This is sooo true for me too. Hot tea really cuts my cravings. I really like drinking it best around 5PM. I'm all over the skinny cow and pudding too!

Can you swim? That's great low impact. Also, try the bike. Sorry to hear about your injuries. The good news is you are taking care of yourself. Funny thing BTW, I was just saying to another MFP friend that when I'm heavy my knees are the first thing to act up.

Hey Cris you look great! 7 to go well done! Your brother is solid from what I can see. The other pics are subjective. Your slim example would be my medium. The solid it over the top unless you're bulking up for something specific. The three pics have one thing in common, cut abs and chest. Your arms and neck are developed…

Since I caught my son's cold I'm opting out of chk-in w/ my measurements. My weight stayed the same- 136. I'll check back in on Tues.

Cheryl Burke looks great! She's fit and sexy.

When I read your post I said to myself, this sounds like my mom. Of course, I then read you were talking about your mom. Why do mom's insist on doubting our decisions? They know our buttons. Stick by your choices. Trust yourself. You're in this for you not for pleasing others around you, mom's most of all. BTW, I'm eating…

This is so true. Each lb. can mean pain in my knees, tendinitis and moving up a size. My alarms start to sound off when I'm 5lbs. over my GW but I'm essentially 20lbs over so things are hurting and it makes it really hard to get back on track. Cutting out my favorite fatty foods is not fun either.

5'3 and am thick all around. I never really minded because I was always strong and athletic but things rapidly changed after I had my 3 children. It's been a roller coaster ever since. I am here to manage my health and fitness to get that "I feel good" feeling again and keep it that way. I love, love, love food so I'm my…

Beautiful, beautiful pictures! I hope you feel as great as you look?! Thank you for sharing your story and your pics. You are an inspiration to everyone around you.

Are you going off the video? That's great you're not sore and me thinks it's about ramping up not over extending your body in the beginning. I like the 30 day plan. Personally, I try to avoid injuries b/c then I can't do a thing or keep up w/ my 3 children-

OK, today's my day to weigh in- lost 1 lb. CW= 136  I'll do measurements on Saturday. I need to calculate an accurate bfi which will no doubt make me feel better about building muscle vs. Weight loss. It will be slow.

Hey! I just read all the posts and I am motivated!!! Week 2 check-in: Current weight: 137 Pounds lost since last week: 0, zip, zero, nada, :frown: Question of the week: Are you tracking inches too? I just started tracking inches this weekend so I'll report those at the end of the week. today my son was sick so I was on my…

I relate to the "absolutely don't care" state-of-mind. The reason could be anything. What I do now, to avoid that is eat a bunch of good stuff at breakfast and have a filling lunch. I also keep junk food out of the house. If it's there, I will eventually eat it. :grumble: a lot of members wrote that they write down every…
