I replaced sugar with raw honey and then add a couple tablespoons of whole milk. I tried almond milk but I just don't like the flavor. My son suggested coconut cream to replace both sugar and milk in my coffee, but I haven't tried that yet.

That sounds like a good plan. I saw in the MFP goal settings that you can make a goal of gaining .a half pound per week (about 2 tenths of a kg.) Using that goal setting tool will help you get your calories in line without putting on a huge amount of weight suddenly.
