Hey, so I started up this application again. I joined a few years ago and didn't even give it the time of day. But now, I'm so ready for a change! I've already lost a few pounds in a week since I've joined and Im feeling pretty good about things. I dont have many friends on here yet for support, so I welcome people with struggles and motivation to add me as a friend.
I'm 34 years old, married and have a 7 year old boy......most of all I'm doing this for me, but my family is a big part of this journey too.
Over the past few years my weight has gone up and up. For my height ( 5'6) I should be between 130-140. Lets just say Im over that.....and I can and I will do this!!!!!!!
Cheers:)

Just approved your friend request. I have 32 pounds to lose. I've found that since I carry my phone with me everywhere, using the app to track calories has been the best part of this. So easy to just scan a barcode on a package then record how much I ate.
The odd thing is, now that I am concentrating on healthy choices, I am actually having trouble consuming 1200 calories each day.
I don't eat much, but was often eating the wrong foods.
I'm 46, married, homeschool my sons, and do some freelance writing. I have 18 year old and a 5 year old. (I know big age gap.)
Anyhow, my weight went up after I weaned my little one and it just never has come back down. I'm 5 ft tall and should weigh about 115.
I'm still trying to figure out how to work some exercise into my very busy schedule.0 -
Thanks Sandraeward! I know, since recording everything Im consuming, I consciously make much better food choices.
Now as you mentioned about finding time to exercise in your busy schedule. Hmmm, what worked for me was just making it a habit.
I used to smoke, bad habit yes....but none of the less it was a habit that I did daily. So I made it up in my mind that getting some exercise has to be my new habit! I walk in the mornings for 35 minutes. Then come home and do the following;
1. Squats ( anywhere between 20 and 40)
2. Lift 7lbs weights, as many as I can handle....maybe 25.
3. Plank (25 seconds)
4. Ab crunches ( 35)
5. Step ups on a couch ( 20)
And maybe a few other little things, but all in all it may take 20 minutes or so. I feel great when I'm done, and then I feel even better when I check it off on my exercise list!
I'm not one of those people that will work out until their blue in the face, lol. I truly believe that with proper and healthy eating habits and light exercise, anyone can lose weight and feel fabulous!
Remember, you have to make time! As busy as life can get.0
