Our granddaughter calls me Nana - I love it. She calls her other grandmother G'mommy - love that too!

Up 1 pound today - I can deal with that!

I'm going to have a little of everything I want, just plan not to stuff myself - like the turkey!

Sorry - I don't believe in cheat days - if you cheat, you cheat yourself. Everybody has a day now and then when they go over their calories some but that's different, in my opinion. If you want to eat or drink something, and have the calories for it then fine. If you don't, maybe you need to think about eating it. Just my…

Great changes. I've made most of those same changes. I keep telling everybody there's not magic pill - just making lifestyle changes and sticking to them. Keep up the great work.

Sorry - yes I wasn't clear was I. I have not lost any weight for several weeks. I walk 45-50 minutes 5 out of 7 days. I do not go over my calories - do tend to go over sodium some.
-
Totally agree. I no longer crave sweets. Yay!

I can't speak from personal experience because I've never been in your shoes. I do, however, have friends who have had this surgery. My best friend had her stomach stapled in the early 80's - lost the weight and put it all (and more) back on. She had gastric bypass again several years ago and almost died from the surgery!…

Send me a friend request! We're retired - kinda - not by choice, by economy! We're going to take a 7 month job in a campground from April - October. Pays very little but will be lots of fun. I too am a lifetime member of WW, which I always loved until I found this site. This is sooo much easier. I don't eat out very often…

It's funny you started this topic! My hubby and I were talking last night how you never really think about how many calories are in certain foods until you start counting them! He said he was afraid to eat a fried egg now without worrying about calories. I've ruined him! P.S He's lost 15 pounds too!

I eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning - put lots of cinnamon in mine.
-
Two pieces of Dove Dark Silky Smooth - less than 100 caloires for the two. Satisfies my sweet tooth!

I think we all have to fit this program to what works best for us. I need 1300 calories per day and don't eat my exercise cals back.
-
If you're 5' 9" and 209 and only eating 1200 calories - in my opinion, you are NOT eating enough. I'm 5' 4" and started at 160 and eat 1300 calories a day. I have lost 16 pounds. I walk about 40 - 45 minutes 5 out of 7 days. I would try to eat between 1400-1500 and see what happens. Good luck - DON'T GIVE UP!
-
I tried 1200 - just wasn't enough for me so I increased to 1300 - that extra 100 cals made a big difference.
-
Keep up the good work!

Welcome - this is a great site! Fell free to send me a friend request.

Wow - that's fantastic. You look like you could have been on The Biggest Loser!
-
I weight first thing every morning and write it down - it helps keep me in line!
-
I mainly focus on calories. Try to watch the other stuff, but I really do try to stay under cals.
-
I have oatmeal almost every day for breakfast. I also eat 7 pretzels and a carton of yogurt most days for lunch.
-
I only use skim milk but I've never been a milk person anyway! I still eat white rice, white bread and white pasta. I've tried the brown rice and pasta and just don't care for it. I've lost 15 pounds. I still think most of losing weight is moderation and exercise.
-
Everybody does it differently. Personally, I do not eat mine back. I stick with 1300 cals per day. Guess it's all personal choice.
-
Love peanut butter - I haven't had it in a while but somebody suggested putting a TB in oatmeal! I'm definitely gonna try that cause I eat oatmeal every morning!
-
Add me - I eat 1300 cals per day - but do not eat my exercise calories back!

There may be several days that you don't see the scale move - but as long as you're eating enough and getting exercise, it will happen. It's a lot easier to put on 10 pounds than take if off. Without knowing what kinds of foods you're eating and how many calories, it's hard to answer your question. There are tons of great…

Okay - all you 20 years old - get the weight off now! I'm 55 and let me tell you it gets harder the older you get! Free free to add me as a friend.

Cholestrol over 300 and knowing heart disease runs in my family! Also for my 3 year old granddaughter!

For me, it's about being accoutable - not to anybody else but to myself. I'm the only one who can do this - not my husband, not my friends. Just me. I don't like execise and used to have to really make myself go for a walk - now I'm like "let's go for a walk"! I've lost 15 pounds and I'm not - I repeat "NOT" putting it…

Most of us don't really think about the calories we put in our mouths. It's amazing what substituting mayo for mustard - or leaving a piece of cheese off of your burger makes. Little changes make a huge difference!
