I agree with everybody - you just have to measure - at least until you can eyeball things. It drives my husband crazy sometimes when he sees me getting out the measuring cup! The recipe builder is a lifesaver if you tend to fix the same things more than once.

High cholestrol and the fact that heart disease runs in my family, along with diabeties. My cholestrol has come down below 200 - yay! Also tired of tight fitting clothes and not being able to even wear my rings!

You look great - keep up the good work!

Don't give up. You have to start somewhere - might as well be here with supportive friends. Take baby steps - it can't happen overnight. Make the wisest choices you can and when you make wrong choices - just do better the next time. Feel free to add me as a friend.

Skip the tanning beds and avoid too much sun. Always use sunscreen - even in winter. Take it from somebody whose had a scare with skin cancer. Plus my hubby just went for his annual skin check today and had to have 2 biopsys (sp) for possible melanomia. We'll know more next week but he may have to have surgery! Everybody…

Hi - I've been on since May 2010. It's all a learning process and there are a lot of great people here. Feel free to send me a friend request. Good luck.

I don't like it either but I really try to make myself walk at least 35 - 45 minutes per day. Sometimes I just have to push myself to put on those tennis shoes, but the minute I take that first step, I feel better. If you can't get in that much time, try starting with 10 mintues and build up.

1200 sounds a little low for you - I'm 5' 4", 151 pounds, female and I have 1300 calories. When MFP calculates your calories based on your personal info, it is just a suggestion - you can go in and change it to suit your lifestyle.

That's great! I feel the same way - I had even made some butterscotch pudding for dessert tonight but didn't have the calories to eat it, so instead I had a small bite of the hubby's - it tasted way too sweet. I definitely think your tastes will change after a few weeks of change! Good luck.

I pre-plan all my days - otherwise, I'd either go over my calories or end up with way too many at the end of the day. I usually figure 250-300 for breakfast; 250 for lunch and the remainder for dinner and snacks. This just works best for me.

I like honey pretzel sticks (7) and yougurt for lunch. Then a nice protein and veggies for dinner.

Worked in banking (investments) all my life until 2006. Decided to take a year or two off to travel on our Harley. That two years has turned into almost 6! But going to take a job for 7 months in the mountains as a campground host! So excited!

You look great! I love reading and seeing these success stories!

Actually sweet potatoes are very good for you. And even though oranges have natural sugar, they're still a better choice than no fruit. Just ignore people who don't support you.

You can add me - I've been on since May 9th and love this site and the people.

Great job! I've lost 14 and I can tell a diffence - keep going!

Feel free to add me - I'm on here every day. Love this site!

I'm 5' 4" and 153 pounds - I do 1300/day. I use between 1200 - 1300 and rarely go over. I do not normally eat my exercise calories back either.

Two reasons - 1. It's my business. 2. Mine's pretty boring - I eat the exact thing for breakfast and lunch 9 out of 10 days. Just because mine is private, doesn't mean I cheat at it. You can ask my husband - as soon as I put anything in my mouth, he asked me if I logged it! This site keeps me accountable to me and I'm the…

You should have my name - Regina. I get called - get this - rhymes with vagina - all the time!

I like a serving of cold ceral with 1/2 cup skim milk or hot oatmeat with cinnamon.

Was planning on a glass of wine, but didn't have the calories left - so had unsweetened tea instead!

Wilmington, North Carolina - 6 miles from Wrightsville Beach! Happy New Year!

That's great! I didn't gain either! I actually found that I didn't really want all the sweets I have in the past. I did have a piece of cake on Christmas day and it actually made me feel sick!
-
Just for me personally - I don't eat my exercise calories back. I didn't read all the responses so I'm sure you'll get a variety of answers - just do what works best for you.

I am too! I am addicted to this site! I did go over yesterday but only because I ate a piece of cake. I didn't overeat on anything else. Going to throw the remaining cake in the garbage.

I do a stocking for my 3 year old granddaughter - coloring book, crayons, lip gloss, stickers, nail polish, play jewelry and 1 piece of candy.
