L1D3 done! Been sore all day. As before, some parts were easier, some parts harder. My calves are what is killing me the worst. Arm work is not so bad till the last few seconds of the squat / arm lifts. But, I have a rotator cuff injury that I have to be careful of. Great work everyone!

I had no insurance and never went to PT. I taught myself to walk on it on my own. Once I did get insurance and went to another Orthapedic Surgeon a few years later he just told me there was nothing he could do about it and said 'exercise' and sent me home, lol. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, I guess. I elevate it…

I am probably so unbelievably sore because the last three days have been extremely active for me besides the Shred. Lawn mowing a huge hill of a yard, two days of hiking through the woods and fishing / swimming on top of the DVD. Today will be more of a rest day for me as I am just staying home, doing the housework and the…

Hmmm... well, gym memberships to use their machines are not an option unfortunately and neither is swimming (pool-wise, anyway.. I do take the kids to a creek where we routinely hike up and down it in the water and swim in the deeper spots). I live pretty far from anywhere and have very limited funds so I do all of my…

Holy soreness, Batman! I woke up today so sore that I am not as excited about doing day 3 on level 1 today, but I will do it. Just trying to get moving, take some Ibuprofen and loosen up my stiff as a board muscles.

Did any of you see this group that is forming to support each other in our smoking cessation? Check it out at: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/252498-smoke-free-on-mfp-no-more-butts-group

Great article, thanks for sharing!

Day 2 of Level 1 done! Some parts were easier, some parts seemed harder. I actually looked forward to doing it today, even though we went hiking / fishing / swimming for about 3 hours earlier in the day. I imagine I will be pretty sore tomorrow. :P Everyone is doing so well! Congrats to everyone who has completed or will…

I burned over 700 calories yesterday mowing lawn and doing my first day of 30 Day Shred. I will be able to do 50 jumping jacks today no problem with day 2! As for the challenges... I like them daily!

Bumping This Up! I've been smoking for the better part of 26 years. I have quit before for periods of time. Four years being the longest. I am finding it much harder to quit this time. My bf and my oldest daughter both smoke and live with me. But, I'm starting to feel absolutely horrible and I know it is the smoking. I…

Did L1, Day 1 today. On top of 50 minutes of mowing my huge hill of a yard and I'm whooped. I admit I had quite a few smart comments for Jillian. Tomorrow the family and I will be hiking / swimming / fishing for hours and then I will do Day 2. I will be burning a gazillion calories at this rate! Everyone is doing so well!…

You are doing awesome! Look great!!

I am so in with you! I will start quitting with you on June 1st and set my quit date for my bday as well - July 1st. What a bday present we will give ourselves, huh?

If my kids are around / awake when I do any type of cardio with a DVD, they often hear me bawling out the bouncy, perky, can speak through the whole video without sounding out of breath instructors. :blushing:

Which physical activity have you done and noticed burns the most calories in the least amount of time? For me, TurboJam has burned the most calories. But, besides that, hiking (cross country) has burned just as much it seems. I've been spending a lot of time in the woods with the family, hiking, swimming, fishing, etc and…

This is so true! I noticed this with little things like my coffee creamer and condiments! Now I log everything and measure everything and have seen just how little it could take to put an extra couple hundred calories in your mouth without even thinking because it was such a tiny amount !!
-
I will join you all! I am having a hard time staying motivated to get my exercise in. Hopefully doing this with you all will help!! Will have to run out and buy the DVD today!

Today's challenge has been met! 20 minutes playing ball with my boys, then 25 minutes of calisthenics. Stress reliever exercises... I would have to say it depends on my stress level.. and my aggression level. Kickboxing for anger/stress, yoga for typical everyday, need to chill out stress.

Hi, there! I have been working on my fitness level since January, but only got serious about it since joining MFP a few weeks ago. Feel free to add me for motivation and support! I could use some too!
-
Wow! Great job! You look amazing! I bet you are so proud of yourself! Keep up all the good work!
-
Thanks. Yeah, that is pretty much what I've been doing - working more lower body instead of upper body. More pilates, calisthenics, etc instead of upper body. I will look into the Walk Away The Pounds DVD. I really do miss walking every day. I lost so much weight when I was able to. I've had a couple people mention Aleve…

Well, it's our first weigh-in and I have attained my goal of losing 2 pounds. Whoot Whoot! I find myself trying to be very happy about that, because before doing MFP with the calories / workouts I was able to lose much more weight by umm... Not eating at all. But, I know that isn't healthy and I'm trying to be a healthier…

I have been diligent about my calorie intake and exercising for two weeks today. My first weigh in I lost absolutely nothing. Tomorrow is my second weigh in and I, too, will probably be discouraged if the scale hasn't moved. I would be happy with a few pounds of weight loss in a week! Don't be so hard on yourself!
-
First of all, don't be so hard on yourself. Second of all... how about this: Today is almost over. Tomorrow is another day, another opportunity to begin, a fresh start. If you only do one thing tomorrow to make it better than today you are successful. So, tomorrow, when you wake up, just set a small goal for yourself to…
