I like easy food prep that I can manage every week. I think the key is to find something sustainable. Weekly food prep doesn't have to be 5 hours in your kitchen every Sunday. Just do your best and find something that works for you. I typically cook 3 dinner nights a week and make a little extra to have leftovers for lunch…

Lots of restaurants use a char broiler that runs on natural gas rather than the bbq most of us use at home (propane). It makes a big difference in flavor. Also, if you are cooking your chicken to 165 and its still dry. Let it rest for 10 mins or so before you cut into it. It allows the chicken to hold on to all of the…

It will vary depending on who you ask and what you are looking to achieve but in my opinion its healthy to eat 5-6 meals a day, exercise (which you are already doing) and track your calories. Also, have fun with your food. It seems like you already are doing great at meal planning. You certainly don't have to change things…

I found this article really helpful when I started asking myself some of the hard questions about self sabotage. I followed the advice of the article and have finally started to consistently lose weight again. For me, the biggest thing was admitting that I focus more on my failures than my successes. Since starting to…

Thanks ladies. I appreciate the kind words and advice. I will definitely be continuing to work on my nutrition and am going to take your advice of not trying to do it all at once. Its hard to backtrack but in this case its totally necessary to move forward. Cheers :)

The best way to fill yourself up on minimal calories is to eat whole foods. Fruits, veggies, lean protein etc. Make your carbs complex ones. Think sweet potato, brown rice, oatmeal and quinoa. They will not only fill you up but help with cravings. If I have something as simple and innocent as a piece of white toast with…

Something like these work great for push ups and planks if your wrists are sore. You are able to keep your wrists straight while still targeting all the wonderful places that pushups and planks are good for. You can also use a couple of large hex weights or any weight with a flat side to the ground (so it doesn't roll or…

First of all, great job! Running a 10k is awesome. When you are finished you will feel a huge sense of pride and accomplishment (as you should!). Second of all, savour it, because you only get to run your first 10k once! This means that no matter what your time is, it will be a personal best! Third, you have already built…
