  • Bump to save....thanks so much!
  • Well I wasn't able to make it to the store to get some better protein choices, but I tried to get in more protein when I could today and it went MUCH better! I feel much better than I did yesterday. I'm going to the store tomorrow to get some greek yogurt, low-fat cheese, etc. LOVE MFP!
  • Wow, I am so overwhelmed by all this help!!!! Thank you all so much!!! I can't say enough how awesome this site is. I have noticed that the days that I eat all non-processed food, I'm not as hungry. It's just hard when I'm trying to get 2 kids out the door, and I have limited time to eat at work (I'm a medical assistant,…
  • Ooh, I like the protein shake idea, that's quick and easy. And does the greek yogurt have more protein than regular yogurt? Thanks so much for your help! I can't see your diary, not sure why not, but I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, haha!
  • I agree - I actually try to eat a lot of protein, but I am finding it hard to find good sources of protein that are lean and quick....you know, that I can bring to work. I feel like no matter what I eat, it's not enough protein, unless I chow down on a chicken breast every few hours, LOL.
  • Sorry, I should have added....I'm downing water like crazy!

  • Skinnytaste has LOTS of great soups - I love the pasta e fagioli. I make a big pot and then take a portion to work with me, etc. Also, I do eat some frozen food, just because it's hard for me to get myself and my kids ready and out the door on some days. So while I try to eat as naturally as possible, life gets in the way…
  • I would love that!! I track on the WW site but the boards there are TERRIBLE. The forum here is great! I've tracked both before and they actually came out to almost exactly the same - explains why they both work, right?
  • Everybody else has already said it, but I have to add.....unbelievable!!! I think what makes it so amazing and why you look so incredible is that not only did you lose the pounds, but you're toned....your shape is just beautiful and the pic of you in the workout clothes really shows that off. Honestly, one of the most…
  • Thanks for the reply! One question...you said to add strength training, but as I remember it, 3DS is a toning workout, so would you say add strength training on top of that? Thanks again!
  • That is AWESOME!!! I can't wait to be overweight too. :)
  • bump....sounds amazing, thanks!
  • Bump! Sounds delicious!
  • I had this today and it was very good. Not a lot of topping for the dough, though, so I topped mine with a handful of romaine lettuce and drizzled Ranch over it and it was great!
  • bump!! Can't wait to make this for lunch!
  • Wow, thanks for all the info on this! I came across this thread while being angry about my current watch-only (i.e. no chest strap) monitor, and was convinced that I should buy the Polar FT4! I went to that heart rate monitor USA website and got it super cheap and then used coupon code VALUEDCUSTOMER for a 5% off discount.…
  • Thanks everyone! Looks like I'm going to go research chest-strap monitors! I think maybe I'll just split the difference, enter in 50% of the calories burned. I'm out of shape, but not THAT out of shape.
  • I'm not sure where you're getting this. Hashimoto's is the single most common cause of hypothyroidism and the simple treatment for it is Synthroid/Levothyroxine. Other causes of hypothyroidism include iodine deficiency (nearly absent from developed countries like the U.S.), overtreatment of hyperthyroidism, radiation…
  • When you lose weight too quickly, you not only lose fat, but you lose precious muscle as well. Plus, it's not sustainable long-term. I'm not going to get into the whole "starvation mode" thing because you'll find on the forums that it is a HUGE debate on here. But just know this: It's simply not healthy for you to lose…
  • Have you checked KFC's website? They list nutritional info, so you could double-check there. And hey....all things in moderation! Mmmm, fried chicken!
  • There seems to be a lot of mixed up information in here. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disorder, and there is no "cure" for autoimmune disorders like Hashimoto's or Lupus, conventional or alternative. There are medications and diets to help alleviate symptoms, prevent flare-ups, etc., but no real cure. Taking Synthroid does…
  • LOL, I don't know, I don't think I can give you a rational explanation for why I don't! I just never have, I think because I don't truly believe that I've burned that many calories through strength training, so I'm afraid that I'm eating too much. I do always have some protein afterwards to help with muscle recovery and…

  • Ah yes, but I have a tendency to turn that "one day" into "one year," LOL! It's about an hour, I usually burn a few hundred calories (according to my HRM). But because it's strength training, I just don't usually eat the calories back. i could have a protein snack afterwards.

  • I'm 5'8" and my goal is 160, but I'm just going based on a past weight. I'll be psyched just to be under 200 at this point, LOL!
  • I'm confused...I've never heard of thyroid meds lowering your metabolism. My understanding was that your metabolism slows from untreated hypo. If your levels are right, your metabolism should be similar to someone without hypo.
  • First things first, you should get your thyroid checked. Secondly, it is so true that laziness begets fatigue and movement begets energy! I notice that the more I sleep or the more I just lay around, the sleepier I get. The more active I am, the more energy I have. So if you have to force yourself to do more each day, try…

  • Thanks so much everyone!! I have pistachios in the house, but I can't eat them while my son is awake, as he is highly allergic to nuts and peanut butter (and milk and eggs, sigh...). You would think that a salad with turkey, ham, egg, cheese and bacon would give me enough protein for the day, but I'm still so low on…
  • bump for the recipe link!
