I just wanted to give people a little update: I decided to try a different kind of system so I'm following a clean eating portion control plan that uses containers to track food instead of weighing/measuring calories, etc. It puts me in a range of 1800-2099 calories so I'm not eating the exact same amount every day. I…

The third post? People definitely have been posting helpful info and I'm grateful for the ones who have been!
-
And people wonder why I don't visit the community forums very often.
-
Wow, I had no idea! I knew it was best to be on brand name because even tiny variations in the generic versions could throw you off, but I figured all the brand name stuff was the same. Thanks for the info!

My last TSH was 1.19. That is on 150mcg of Synthroid. I fluctuate a bit, but as long as I'm close to 1, I'm ok. I prefer to be a bit more on the hyper side, but my thyroid has a hard time staying under 1. I'm confused - Synthroid is just the name brand, so why were you feeling so different on what I'm assuming is Levoxyl?

Ahhhh, I see, I apologize, I have been popping in and reading quickly and I misunderstood your message. Yes, the answers were similar to March 15th's post, but I wasn't actually trying to have that same conversation. My post about the metabolic testing today was really more about trying to understand the meaning of the…

Pretty sure I just asked the 1 time and 1 way, but thank you.

I would have loved to keep this discussion to my original questions, but as it tends to happen on these forums, I find myself answering the same questions or addressing the same things over and over again. That's part of my frustration.
-
Yeah, that would put me at 995. :o No thanks!!
-
Thank you - I am grateful for constructive help but I have definitely had some negative experiences on these boards. I used to engage, but now I just ignore. Liberally. As you suggested. LOL
-
Are you on medication now? It's been about 6 years for me, so I've been medicated for a while. I also credit my very active sports life prior to adulthood with giving me enough muscle to keep my metabolism faster. I'm all about the muscle!
-
Thank you!! It is helpful to have another opinion based on numbers, etc. I appreciate it!
-
That's fair, and I thank you for your honesty. Well, considering the woman called me a "really big girl," LOL, I guess you would say I'm obese. Technically I am. As a former athlete, I still have a lot of muscle, so people have told me that it doesn't look like I weigh 233 but I do, and so that puts me in the obese…

I am hypothyroid and have been on medication since 2011. My levels were checked recently and are good. :)
-
Thank you! And also, thank you for being respectful and kind with your responses. I appreciate it.

Where do you get the 1300 calories from? The RMR is if I were to lie in bed doing nothing all day, not eat or drink or move. It doesn't take into account daily activity, or exercise calories.
-
Thanks. ;)
-
Ah, gotcha, thanks!
-
So I guess a followup question would be... If you totally ignored my comment about eating 1600 calories and I just told you, hey, my RMR is 1800, how many calories would you recommend me to eat to lose 1-2 pounds per week, what would be your recommendation? I know some people say TDEE minus 20%. Some people say to use…

I still weigh everything. In my diary, it may say cups, but whatever the equivalent it lists in grams for that cup is what I'm measuring. Hard to explain but even when I measure in cups, I'm still measuring on the scale. I know that probably doesn't make sense. LOL Can you tell me about the weekly average - I haven't…

Sorry, didn't mean the above poster was doing that. But in the past, that's what has happened. So I put it to private a while ago (a year or so ago when I was doing well). I forgot to add - I weigh daily and it automatically logs in an app because it's a smart scale.
-
It only tests RMR. I had to not exercise for 48 hours, and wasn't allowed to eat anything or drink anything so that it wasn't measuring my body doing anything or experiencing any type of stimulant.
-
I actually have been tracking for longer, but just not on MFP. I was doing it the old fashioned pen and paper way. But this is why I'm always hesitant to open my diary. In the past, I've found that people are more interested in "proving me wrong" instead of helping with the information I've given, which is why I made it…

I wasn't taking cheat days - more so eating what I wanted but counting everything. So my macros and choices probably weren't the best, but I was staying within that calorie range. I am a recovering bulimic and a "recovered" anorexic, so being completely obsessive about my food is in my genes. I also know what not counting…

Over the course of 1 1/2 months, I haven't lost anything. Her claim was that I'm eating not only below my TDEE but below my RMR, and apparently that's why I wasn't losing, but that also doesn't make sense to me. Answer above about the accuracy of my calorie intake.
-
I literally weigh and measure everything that goes into your mouth. When it says 1 tablespoon of peanut butter? I weight it instead of using the tablespoon to make it more accurate. There is no way I could be more anal about measuring my food, LOL. RMR is just if I were to lie in bed 24 hours a day. So that's just to…
-
Thank you! My measurements are the same. My photos show a little difference (which is weird since the measurements are the same, LOL). But I could also just be imagining things. I'm going to work on upping my water intake, and I think I'm going to try upping my calories a little. I remember in the past stalling out and…

Food scale 100%.

https://youtu.be/G1Z8BEyLK2k (you can mute it - I put music to it so you don't hear me grunting, LOL) I just wanted to show you the kind of workout I'm doing. This was the first time through this one, so I was struggling. But I'm not horribly out of shape, even at the weight I'm at. I also wanted to show kind of what I…
