I cannot fathom eating that much, as even 1800 calories would take forever to consume. (small framed woman) How would one find the time? My tips are several: Keep sugar free candies around to keep your mouth occupied. (so your teeth don't rot). Whenever an urge strikes, get up and walk around. Take deep deep breaths. Drink…

Charlie, Your Spreadsheet idea is terrific. I discovered some of the restaurants already have a handout available, also.

For those who go to restaurants. In the US we are supposed to have calories and nutrition counts available everywhere soon. MFP is adding a way to pinpoint the restaurant you're at do you can easily find the relevant info. Wish it had been available this past week, but now I'll be ready next time family comes!

Cardio is for heart health and ease of movement, and bone density-promoting types are of value. You'll thank yourself later in life when you're NOT stooped over and aching. Find something you like to do.

Seconding the Shirataki suggestion. The texture is different, but it's filling, not hard to get used to, and satisfies craving. Many standard groceries carry them now in the Asian refrigerated section. Albertson's has them in stock with the tofu and other refrigerated Asian foods. Follow your doctor's recommendations to…

Adding you to my prayers. This is so hard.

Vicky, you have a great plan. Sending you a warm hug. There is nothing we can say to make coping with family illness easier, but do know he is treasuring the the time you are giving him.

Wonderful Here's your confetti celebration, Vicky! *^'°¤☆`'*^!'☆¤

Portion creep also happens, even after a long time of weighing and measuring food. I weighed what I had "eyeballed" as the correct portion of cottage cheese and discovered I'd scooped out more than I'd realized. :-)

Spreadsheets! Awesome! Satisfying on so many levels.

My Charge HR exercise calories numbers coincide almost exactly with my Shealth app numbers if I am able to carry my phone around and I'm feeling well. They also coincide on burn reported with a reliable treadmill. I get a kick out of seeing the negative adjustment after doing weight training or floor exercise, because I'm…

Jean, your water idea is great. Prime the pump!

@DreamOn145 once I started logging my foods right after I ate them, I finally got into the swing of it. I have the advantage of being retired, so I have the time to check in three times a day. It also helps me remember to correct my prelogged items. Meal done, dishes to do, but first, whip out the phone and log or correct…

I'm just about at goal, but will track for the rest of my life because colitis has required me to figure out what decided to trigger a flare. Logging using an app has really helped educate my brain and eye for portions and calories.

I'd meet nutritional needs first and accept the lower deficit. I would not consider alcohol or sweetened beverages as nutritious enough. Yes I do recognize wine and beer have good things in them, but ..... If I want an alcoholic drink, I add the calories on TOP of my daily calorie goal. Same with sweets or other treats, or…

Try to find TrueLemon crystallized lemon, but not the one that comes in packets with sweetener. I love it on everything like potatoes, popcorn. I use it as salt substitute, or Cavenders salt free Greek Seasoning. The did Ranch dressing is good, too. Or learn to like the sweet flavor of air pop popcorn plain.

Maybe go back in on the website version, and check your settings?. I vaguely recall seeing a new option that would tell it to stop adjusting for burn. Mine is still doing the adjustment for burn, and I prefer it not. I have to do mental calculations to see if I'm on track. But I try the Pollyanna thing and remind myself…

Yes, the foods are quite different, so by all means check the label. When we lived in Canada (wonderful country!), there were several items I would buy in the States to carry back. Many of the Canadian versions seemed to be sweeter than the ones in the US. But then, when we go north, there are some things we stock up on…

Tapioca is my go to. Comforting.

I already always wore a watch, so I put mine on just above the watch, even though i don't need the watch any more. That way it doesn't get too low. It's reading the hr okay when i do exercise, even when it's down at the wrist bone. Maybe a bracelet to keep it above the wristbone?

Ooh. You got the colored one! :) Since I wear a watch even in the shower, it hasn't bothered me. Hope you get used to the sensation soon.
-
April 5, only 5.1 miles. 30.2 total
-
@retirehappy thank you for the info. I'd wondered about that, because my Very active minutes did increase without my doing anything different.
-
April 4, 5.9 miles. Snow pretty, @speedyf glad it's not here, but Cali could have used it.
-
April 3 did 5.4 miles. Accidentally under reported the day before, but find competition makes me feel stressed, which is counterproductive. I only try to maintain daily distance.
-
Thank you for the welcome. Thank you soooo much for the spreadsheet. You are so kind. April 2, 6.7 miles according to fitbit. 13.8 total toward 150 mi.
-
Do we need to go back into Ticker Factory each time to update? Tips appreciated.
-
This is my first time 'round, and I'm following @grandmothercharlie 's lead to this site. I'm going for 150 miles this month, accumulated according to my fitbit. Now let's see if I got this ticker created correctly. Nope. Will keep trying. Did 7.11 miles April 1. Sharon

On the undies! Fantastic idea!
