I'm officially training for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, but I'll be running some 5 and 10Ks between now and then since it's not until May.

This is written by a trainer. He has me doing intervals some of those days, so the distance isn't always long. I did 5 miles yesterday and today was a "recovery" run. I had never done one of those before, where he had me running to keep my heart rate in a specific zone. I have to say, I feel amazing right now. I started…

I'm registered for the half here in Pittsburgh for this year. I just started running this summer, so it should be interesting!

I did the bike and cross trainer today. My hip is still being a little stubborn after my run yesterday, so I wanted to loosen it up a bit.
-
What an amazing story! You are a true inspiration.

yum!

I plateaued so I upped my caloric intake. It seems to be working for me for now. I think with the numbers, it's all a trial and error thing. I just try different things until I find something to get the numbers moving again.

This! I have a nasty cold and sore throat, and I still ran in the rain today. I felt better when I was done. I'm starting to feel icky again now, so I'll just rest for the evening.

Maybe treat yourself to a new running coat, that's reflective? I normally run after I take the kids to school, so it's daylight by then. Could you try running a different time of day? Don't give up yet, I'm sure you can work through this!

One of my children is gluten free and her tummy bloat has gone down. I tend to eat this way myself for the bloat and because I lack self control with the carbs. I have a good recipe for sesame chicken that I make because we used to love getting Chinese takeout.

bacon and hershey milk chocolate, but not necessarily together

or time to work out in your bra and undies in your living room!

I am the same way. I go through waves. I'm really diligent for awhile, never skip a workout and eat right. Then I eat, and eat and eat. As much as my 350lb husband. Then I feel guilty and the cycle starts all over. Feel free to add me, we can help each other!

I ran my first one today. It was very hilly and I finished with a time of 32:05. I'm pretty happy with that, and I'm looking forward to a flat race to see how much faster I can go! I'm with the others though, I think any race you can finish is a good time to start to work with improving :)

I've started running. I'm doing my first 5K tomorrow and my first half marathon in May! Anyone feel free to add me, I love getting and giving support to like minded folks.

Thank you! My trainer says I shouldn't need to walk either, but I wanted a "real" persons opinion, lol.

Thank you for your replies! I can't cut my cardio, I'm training for some races, including a half marathon. I am going to try upping my calories closer to the 1700-1800 range for awhile and see what happens. Thanks!

I drink my 2 cups of coffee in the morning and I eat a banana on my way to my run or the gym. After I eat something protein.

I went from a full D to a B. It's sad :(
-
I'd say beans, eggs, and quinoa!
-
Welcome! Feel free to add me :)

I like to throw it in a pan with tomatoes and onions and eat as a side.

I splurge once a week on a Venti Skinny Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks. The rest of the week I drink Dunkin Donuts coffee with a splash of skim milk. If I cave and have an extra Starbucks for the week, I just make it up at the gym.

I use iPeriod lite and it's free. I like it!

My friend at the gym had one. She was out for 6 weeks, although it was longer until she could do our normal ab work in class. She said if she had it to do over again, she would not. I do believe she had 3 csections prior to her's also. Her scar is higher than her bikini bottoms, so it looks odd. On a side note, she got…

I'm almost embarrassed to say, but I'm at Giant Eagle at least 4-5 times a week! We live close to one, so I go for the forgotten items frequently, but I do a once a week shopping there too. I've had to go to Market District in Robinson more because they carry rice and dairy free cheeses and have a larger gluten free…

Anything by System of a Down, especially if I'm running!

Your story has brought tears to my eyes, in a good way. I'm so happy for you and all you've done! Your words about the stretch marks and loose skin really touched home with me. I've had 2 kids, was overweight before that, and have lost 80lbs. My stomach is a disaster, but I may appreciate it a bit more now, thanks to you!

Where did you find that shirt? I LOVE it!! I might have some clothes to add tomorrow when I go through them. I started at an 18 and am now a 6.

I have a Polar F6 and it seems to work great!
