Opposite world. OP is bulking. That sounds amazing.

I weigh in every day. At first the fluctuations bothered me, but once several weeks passed and I saw the overall downward trend, I began to enjoy the fluctuations. I feel like I'm finally getting to understand my body and how it works for the first time in my life.

+1 all the shop with your parents and make the food with them. The information you learn about calories and portion sizes will carry you through the rest of your life.

My last meal of the day is right before I go to bed, so I go to bed on a full stomach. When I first started a food plan, having that bedtime meal really helped me not snack after dinner. The added benefit is that I don't get hungry during the night, nor do I wake up starving.

It takes 3500 calories above and beyond your regular TDEE to gain 1 pound. Even if you eat 7000 extra calories, you'll only gain 2 pounds. My advice? Have at it. Log it or not, and move on to Monday. eta: and enjoy yourself and the food! Load that plate up if you want to!

EVERYTHING.

Be brutally honest with yourself about the calories in everything you eat. Log all of your food. Figure out which foods fill you up and which foods leave you feeling hungry. Eat more of the first kind and less of the second kind. I do best eating every three or four hours, so I'm never in a position where I'm snacking.…

I overate today by about 1,000 calories. The wonderful thing about counting calories is that it isn't a "get it right or die" situation. I overate by 1,000 calories? For the next couple of days, I'll undereat by 100 calories. It'll work itself out. I just know that I'm not overeating by 1,000 every day, because I weigh and…

And clearly mark them.

Yes, some people are making fun of you because you asked a question that indicates you don't know as much as they do. Don't worry about them. Instead, focus on what ndj said: I've bolded the essential parts -- count your calories and do strength training. If you don't know how many calories you should be eating, try the…

I used to be an emotional eater. I really had to change my entire eating framework. The first thing I did to change was have a food plan. When I know exactly what I am going to eat all day long, it's much easier to not aimlessly graze or eat over stress. Now if I turn to food in times of stress, I just eat my next meal (or…

It says in the article that Tess Holliday left school at 17 because of relentless bullying as a child. I really packed on the weight starting around age 6. My siblings taunted me *all* the time, and while the kids at school didn't taunt me openly, it was obvious that the skinny kids got preferential treatment in games and…

I don't log soy sauce or wasabi. I don't log water. I don't log sips of my husband's cocktails, and I don't log food that I only have a taste of. Otherwise, I weigh and measure every food I eat. I have gotten in the habit of writing a recipe out, including all the calories and macros, then dividing by X serving size so I…

I'm a chewer too. 112 grams yogurt, 100 grams blueberries, 50 grams granola = delicious and filling. Some mornings I have a latte and a huge blueberry muffin from the local coffee shop. Also filling but probably because it takes me three hours to eat and drink the whole thing.

OHC -- those are my symptoms nearly exactly. Thank you for that link and I will be sure to discuss this with my doctor.

Winner! **** I'm actually a bit afraid of having a colonoscopy. Every time in the past that I've had to take a laxative, I've fainted or nearly fainted when the laxative kicks in. I get super woosy and the entire world just collapses in and I get super sweaty and then faint. Anyone else have this experience? Or, I could…

I think she's promoting a healthy lifestyle -- she works with a trainer 4 times a week. That's four times more than I work with a trainer. Then there's that picture of her eating a corn dog. IIFYM!

+1. I count my calories just like I brush my teeth. It's something I do every day; no drama. Sometimes I go over my calories. Sometimes I go under. Over time, it all evens out.
-
I basically know what I am going to eat every day, and then I eat that food when I get hungry. So I start the day with a tableful of food, then eat that food when I get hungry. I'm never snacking, I'm just starting or finishing a meal.

The worst part of rice cakes is that someone had the nerve to called them cake.

Thank you so much BZAH!

+1. You need to be honest, no matter how much shame you feel about it. Track your food over several weeks and months. It's not until you have a decent data set that you can start to identify trends, like are you hungry during particular days of the month, or are you hungry when you are in particular situations, etc.…

Oye! I am at -72 points and four warnings. Three of the warnings are totally deserved, but one of the warnings, the one with 2 points attached, I protest that warning. Undeserved! Anyhow, I'm really glad I now know where the flags are. Thank you!
-
Also, if we add a facepalm icon in the flag menu, a lot of the abuse will stop.
-
Is there a way to see how many flags we've gotten, other than looking at the posts themselves? I know I've gotten loads of flags, but I've never seen points or warnings. Is it just via the inbox? I've checked Settings and have asked help, but I can't figure out how to see points or warnings. While I try to be level-headed…

When I'm sick and need to eat, I follow the BRAT diet -- banana, rice, applesauce, toast.
