You have to make eating and exercising a priority. There is no other way. I'm in the same boat -- lost weight, gained back fat because I didn't make it a priority.

I lost 20 pounds last year just counting calories, then gained 12 back of pure fat. I am going to do it right this time by combining exercise with counting calories. I just want to lose 20 but I also want to feel stronger! :)

Nope.

Your kids are acting differently because the candy sugar is converted into energy much faster than the fruit sugar. They have a little rush of energy. Give them a rake and stick them outside and tell them to get to work.
-
Of course, that's just the way these forums go.
-
I especially love the ones referring to OP but failing to see that you are in fact trying to get back into the conversation.

They are so busy with each other they failed to notice you posted again.

Good luck OP..

Meh. I've kept 40 pounds off for 10 years. I used to eat way too much, now I only eat too much.

I've basically been eating nothing but candy since Christmas and am maintaining a 15 pound weight loss.

You are welcome!

The Liver Cleansing Diet by Sandra Cabot, MD -- if this is the one that Mitimum is following -- promotes the purchase of a liver cleansing pill or powder, manufactured by? You guessed it! Sandra Cabot, MD. eta: source, Amazon.com but I'm not going to link to it.

F*** science! I want to know now! What are the rules of this amazing diet?
-
How exciting! What exactly does this Liver Cleansing Diet consist of?

I was listening to a McDonald's commercial the other day, and they were talking about their kids meal having health friendly apples or some crap like that, and I thought: Who goes to McDonald's to get healthy food? Isn't the whole point of McDonald's to be a treat where you can get something you can't otherwise make at…

OP, I ordered fish tacos the other day, then checked their website for the calories. I had 1100 left to spend for the day. The fish tacos were 1290. Fish tacos! When the server came back, I said I just wanted the fish tacos, not the cheese and sour cream that came with it. Then I ate a wheelbarrow full of garlic Parmesan…

Yes -- we are in control of what happens once we recognize our triggers. For some of us, just stopping to think about it works. For others (like me), eliminating the trigger is what works. But denying the trigger exists doesn't work for anyone.

10 years ago, when I was at my highest weight and eating nothing but sugary foods all day, I found a food addiction program, I got a sponsor, I eliminated dessert foods, and I dropped 75 pounds. I learned about my addictive behavior around food and I learned how to modify those behaviors. Over the years, I gained back 40…

Hi OP -- I think you've identified the problem right here. If you don't know what you are going to eat, you don't know what you are going to eat. Here's a food plan I follow: breakfast: 1 serving dairy, 1 serving grain, 1 fruit lunch: 4 oz protein, 1 cup lettuce, 1 cup vegetable, 1/2 cup grain, 1 fruit dinner: 4 oz…

OP, I found when I compared cereals, that most of them aren't very different from each other nutritionally, so eat what you want. As you can see by the arguments on this thread, what is right for one person isn't right for another person. So don't worry about what is the "right" food to eat; instead, focus on finding which…

Hi Sjrutherf. Welcome to MFP, the greatest calorie tracking device under the sun (TM). You are very lucky! Because those red numbers set off a depression, you now have a MASSIVE clue about your emotions and self-judgement connected with food. This is GREAT to know, because you can now start to fix it. If you just try to…

To lose weight, eat fewer calories than you burn off. That's it. For health reasons, people watch their sugar intake, or their salt intake, or their cholesterol intake. If you have no health issues, then eat all the sugar you want. Within your calorie and macronutrient goals, of course.

The thing is, thin girls get the comments even worse. Sadly, all women get yelled at by boneheads in cars. Some comments are mean and some are sexual, but they are all ugly. Make sure you have on clothing you love. Work out clothes you feel good in are like a protective suit of armor. Best of luck.

Love this logic: Problem: Eating added sugar foods make you crave more added sugar foods, which then leads you to overeat and gain weight. Solution: Eat more added sugar foods!

You aren't making it right. Measure out one cup of oatmeal. Fry up some bacon and eggs. Pour the oatmeal back into the oatmeal container, then eat the bacon and eggs. *** I used to eat a bowl of oatmeal with raisins and apple pie spice for breakfast. It tasted just like apple pie and I found it very filling until the…

OP, I had a serious control issue around sweet foods, dessert foods in particular. The only way I could control my binge eating was through elimination -- I cut out all my trigger foods completely and did just fine for nearly 10 years. In the past few months, I've reintroduced added sugar foods to my diet. The cravings are…

Let's sit down at the same table. We both have a sugar craving, so we eat all the Girl Scout cookies (and seriously? No milk? Didn't you get super dry throat?). When we get up from the table, you still get to eat 980 more calories for the rest of the day, while I only get to eat 200 more. Now, in addition to my cravings, I…
