I'd put something like this in my original post Dav...but mine came across a bit less polite, and I didn't like it so I took it out. Thanks for putting it in a much more constructive manner than I was able to (for some reason my mind kept drawing a blank lol).

It can help, absolutely. I've broken a 3mo plateau with zigzagging in the past. Now, I just naturally zig zag. Some people have hard/fast methods for it...but basically, eat at maintenance one day, a large deficit the next...moderate the third...regular fourth, maybe maintenance again (or even a surplus)...whatever gets…

Congratulations! Just remember, random exercises off of the internet won't necessarily make a good lifting program. My way to combat soreness is to keep lifting. I'm never very sore after the second week of three alternating days. This is somewhat complicated. I will post a full bodyweight training program at the bottom of…

Nice :)

Oh, that's odd...because a calorie is a unit of energy. Odd that 1 unit of energy wouldn't equal another unit of the same energy. In other words, when dieting for the purpose of losing/gaining fat/lean mass, you're wrong. If you disagree, feel free to tell me how all the Taco Bell I eat has affected my fat loss (not…

We saw Olympus Has Fallen a couple weeks ago...good movie. Waiting to find out where I can pick up that surfer movie he was in lol.

I can't say I personally agree with this. When I lift with short duration and high intensity (5x5, or reverse pyramid...which involves lifting my 4 rep max after two warmup sets, then deloading 10% for 5 reps, and deloading 10% for 6 reps, then on to the next lift), I'm energized, not wasted. If anything, I'm more likely…

I thought the movie was kinda funny in a campy sorta way. And I think she's hot (most of the time), as long as she doesn't speak.

There ya go.

Ahh...agreed. Your initial comment was a bit misleading is all. I use a Bodymedia Fit for my TDEE. I do have to say though...the TDEE - 10-20% method (which is my basic goal) would never net me below my 1600cal bmr. Even on a completely lazy Sunday like today...my TDEE is still 2400cal. Minus 20% puts me around 1900. -edit…
-
2200 =/= 1600?
-
Why clean?
-
You're eating 50cal less than it would take you to survive in a coma? Hmm...sounds...off. My BMR is around 1600...my TDEE per my bodymedia fit, is averaged at 3000cal (3300-3500ish weekdays, 2200-2800ish weekends). I eat around 2500-2800/day.

It's early here, still haven't eaten. I'll take drinks for an appetizer though, lol.
-
Lol it's ok...it's just so far out of my perspective it's tough to fathom =p. I wouldn't care if I gained TEN pounds, if I lost even TWO inches on my waist lol.
-
Dinner...your place, or mine?
-
You gained a whopping 1lb back the day after you were strength training, and you're worried about it? You lost 6" in your waist, and you even care what the scale says?? SMFH.
-
Pick me?? I hope you have a decent sized purse... On topic...I lol'd.
-
LOL!! I had to read this three times before I caught the sarcasm. Well played :).
-
That depends on the size and composition of her breakfast. If it comprises the entirety of her calorie goal...there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Oh, and there's NOTHING unhealthy about carbs for dinner. Or lunch. Or breakfast. Or a midnight snack.
-
There, I fixed it. For weight loss, this is what matters. For health...adding the protein and veggies would be a bonus, but there's nothing wrong with butter, cheese, and cream sauce in and of themselves.

There's been a few.

I'm a Scorpio. This means that depending on your gender, how attractive, and how lucky you are... ...it may end up being you. :)

You do understand that all cardio is going to do for you is increase your deficit? This is great if you want to eat more to compensate and maintain the hopefully healthy deficit MFP (or whatever program you're using to determine your target calories) has set for you...but otherwise it's kind of useless for your goals.…

Wow, you seem to be incredibly intelligent!! Did you actually even read her post? Or is this just a knee jerk reaction to the very general and incredibly vague term 'starvation mode'? So...how about taking a moment to look again. She clearly defined the difference between the term 'starvation mode' and actual 'starvation',…

The nice thing about your method, is that you're getting some of everything :). There is NOTHING wrong with that, and for sedentary people with desk jobs or no job at all...it's a great way to go about it. You're triggering your body to shed weight with your deficit, improving the health of your heart and lungs, increasing…
