I have been using Atkins protein shakes, as I haven't found a powder that doesn't taste awful. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, because someday I just may go off meat all together. I also use Quest bars.

switch over to flavored, sparkling spring water for a while, then wean yourself off to just plain water. It can happen. I am living proof. It took about 4 to 6 months for me but I go through a 32-pack of bottled water each week, by myself, not including my diet green tea.

I make up a lot of my protein need with protein shakes and protein bars. I really have to watch the fat, though. Those protein replacement foods are high in fat and calories, both. I like to buy "banded" bananas at the grocery store, take them home and let them turn all mushy and over ripe. Then I make 7 or 8 loaves of banana bread and donate them to the local food bank. I always use unrefined virgin coconut oil when I cook. It also makes my skin soft, and it smells divine. My grandfather put butter in his coffee and everyone thought it was weird. This is the first time I have ever read that other people put butter in their coffee.

My sister went off processed sugar and she also said she felt week and achy for a week. Then she was fine. I congratulate you on your abstinence from sugar.

I do have arthritis in both knees, but that wasn't the problem when I tried the elliptical... I just tuckered out after 2 minutes and I could hardly breathe! I do best on the treadmill, for now. However, I am not against trying it again when my stamina gets going again.

I know a young man that has spent his life self conscious about them. I talked with my doc about it and there is a scientific, medical name for the condition and it seems to be a heredity "thang". I have discovered Sensible Portions brand "veggie" straws. They have 30% less fat than potato chips and have vegetable powders mixed with the potato. It still tastes mostly like potato chips, but for 30% less fat, I went for it and I really like them.
