I choose to abstain from processed sugar because if it is in my house, I will eat it. I am diabetic (type 2), and I am working hard on lowering my A1C. I just need to tame my sweet tooth with a lot of discipline. Sugar is my drug and it is soo hard to just put it out of my mind, sometimes...

Not to impune your comment, but this reminds me of when my trainer told me not to log mowing my lawn as exercise, because I have an electric lawn mower...I STILL come in sopping wet after 30 minutes pushing that thing around the yard. Phooey! I log it.

I have to admit I do, on a rare occasion, will buy 1/2 pint of my fave icecream and eat it all at once. That seems to satisfy my icecream urges for a while. When I snack, it is in the evening time. Not too late, or I am up with insomnia all night.

I have lost my enjoyment of Quest bars because they Have a salty taste to them that grosses me out. I am going low carb these days, so I use Atkins products. I don't know the chemistry involved but they use sugar alcohols, but is low glycemic and keeps the carbs down. Works for me. no spam here....

Only if I burned over 1,000 calories that day...I eat snacks at night, but high protein, low sugar. I will sometimes have peanut butter toast on 45 calorie bread, but not after 10 PM. I stay up pretty late.

I am trying to keep down carbs, and it can be difficult for me because I am just coming off those fresh summer strawberry and raspberry smoothies. I always keep 5 bean salad on hand for one of my proteins, and also Cellucor protein powder has great flavors that don't have the after taste some other powders have. Peanut butter...edamame...chic peas...the list is endless...

I have had much success in limiting my sugars by making fruit smoothies ( strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in different combos). 2X a day. My problem is limiting carbs. GAWD! They are everywhere!

I am usually there around 11 AM to see Justin. I train with him 3X a week and just do cardio on other days.

MFP puts me at 1310 calories a day. I rarely get in over 1200, and I am losing weight, and knocked my A1C down from 7.0 to 6.3 in 2 months. When I get in a good workout I will eat back around 300, if I use my protein smoothies like twice a day instead of once.
