for me, it is usually 3/4 cup of Special K Protein cereal with 1/2 cup light almond milk, accompanied by a medium banana. It comes out to be around 300 calories, and the perfect fuel for my morning workout.

I sat down last week to have "a hand full" of yogurt raisins...I felt defeated after eating the entire bag. I felt tired and grumpy the next day. Needless to say, no more yogurt raisins in my house 'cause I can't seem to control my portions of this kind of food.

I use Atkins as well. I am diabetic and need to watch my carbs. I see nothing wrong with fresh fruit, though. Especially berries. I avoid things like pineapple and pears ( I love pears) because of their high sugar content. I make my smoothies with strawberries and raspberries and sometimes mangos.

If someone can limit themselves to 1 slice (1/8 of a pizza) it is about 250 calories for pepperoni pizza. Yeah, it has fat and sodium to consider, but if you have room for it in your daily log, why not have pizza? Tell the trolls leave you to your lunch and find someone else to annoy.

Join a water aerobics class at a gym, or community pool somewhere. It is a great place to meat friends and get in a great cardio workout. If possible, follow up with a little circuit training, a walk in the park on a great day, even mowing your lawn is a workout. Good luck (-:

I always keep a lot of fresh berries in my fridge to make smoothies and purees with. I use the purees on cottage cheese, and in my green tea. I also keep my fridge stocked with Atkins protein shakes. Water is my favorite drink. I also take kidney meds and they dry me out, so I go through a 32 bottle case in a week by myself. It took some getting used to but now I wouldn't have it any other way.

I recently bought New Balance shoes, and they support my feet real good. I walk sometimes on the days I don't workout, but I only go about 1 1/2 miles. My gym has a pool and I used to go to Aquafit a lot, but lately I have gone to training 3x a week and do my cardio elsewhere.

I live in Washington state, and where I live, I don't see a lot of those yummy products. It seems the Eastern states have a lot more variety in the yogurt flavors. That's sad for me, because I live in dairy country...

I just don't trust the marketers. The FDA is busy with soooo many things, things can slip by them (we are all human) and WHEN they catch the marketers in their games, that's when we see it on the news.

I have noticed some soda manufacturers are going back to using sugar. It sounds healthier than artificial sweeteners, but by "sugar" isn't it really high fructose corn syrup? I gotta watch those marketers 'cause they can play word games with the public, and the FDA doesn't always catch them all at it.

Instead of giving up on bread entirely, I use the thin sliced multi grain 45 calories per slice bread. Toast and sandwiches are a treat I eat only a few times a week. Atkins helps with carb control. Expensive, but it works. That's where my sweet snacks come from, otherwise fruit is my sweet food.

Hi carb and hi sugar stuff drop-kicks me off the wagon. I know what I can control and what I can't. I just don't buy it unless it comes in small serving sizes, like ice cream, or don't have it in my house at all.

You can always save it and add it to a smoothie later in the day. I never have milk left in my bowl. I use only enough milk to wet down the cereal, so I can swallow it.

I still have the scale I bought while in culinary school. It displays BOTH grams and ounces. Handy little gadget to have around the kitchen.

I just know there are 28 grams in 1 ounce so 100/ 28 =3.57 oz That's how I convert grams to ounces.

Thanx for the tip on that nutrition website. When you get several thousand people adding info on the data base, there are bound to be discrepancies. That's why when I add something to the database, I add "from label" in the description. If nothing else, to be able to find my own submission instead of some of the others.

I believe Diet Pepsi uses Splenda. It is best to ditch soda pop all together, but my mom used to drink Diet Pepsi to avoid Aspartame. She had cancer and didn't want to make it worse with Aspartame.
